Yes!. It is also dangerous and selfish!. Guidelines about blood donation were created to make sure that those receiving the blood are 100%, absolutely safe!. It doesn't matter whether or not you think you're fine are not, the rules are in place to protect others!. I've looked over the guidelines many times and if you honestly think any one of them ISN'T a good reason not to donate blood you have very poor judgement!.
The only guideline I have a problem with is that, at least it used to be, gay individuals could not donate blood!. I don't condone lying but this is the only guideline that I feel is out of line!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The rules about blood donations exist for good reason!. You may think you are healthy, you may feel healthy, and still carry viruses and other things that would put a donor at risk!. You can think they are dumb reasons for all you like, but the rules are there to protect both the donor and recipient!. It's nice you want to help, but there are other ways to do it!. Lying is always wrong, no matter how good your intentions are!. Somebody who needs blood is already in bad enough shape without having to worry about the safety of the blood products they recieve!. Give it a thought here!. If you ever need blood, wouldn't you like to be able to relax and know the person who donated it was honest!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
Madame towel, I have a medical condition called haemacromatosis, it means that my body is unable to break down iron, it is a condition that attacks many major organs and results in liver failure due to iron poisoning if left untreated!.
The most effecient "cure" for my illness is donating blood once every three months, to disperse of the extra iron in my blood streams, it means that my iron levels are still high but my haemogloblin levels are at an acceptable level!.
My blood is still used in donations because it is my body that can't break down the iron and it is not a contagious illness!.
This pleases me because I am a universal donaor because of my blood type, so everyone except those with o- blood can recieve my blood, I like this because I save the lives of people with extremley rare blood types!.
Before I found out I had this illness I lied when I started donating blood, i told them my tattoo was over 12 months old, because I know all blood is filtered and stored for sometime anyway!. I don't know if it is illegal, and basically I do not care either, I helped save lives!.
It is impossible for a recipient of your blood to catch anything contagious because of all the screening methods used!.
Judging by another question of yours it seems you want to lie about your weight, well lie if you have too, you want to save lives and should be comended for that!. You will get dizzy, when I was suffering ith anorexia and was only 43kgs and I had to donate blood because of my condition, it made me extremly dizzy!.

It may go un-noticed if you lie when you donate blood!.!. but why lie about something so critical!.!. when you can put the other person at risk!.
Moreover, i think they do conduct test before they use your blood and if they find out something bad, then you are in BIG trouble!.!.!.:-(

I am not completely certain whether it is illegal to lie about your age to assisst in a noble cause, however, there still could be major medical reasons for why that minimum age to donate blood is established!. I appreciate your effort to give blood, but it still would be best to wait until you meet the age requirements!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
PUMPKIN, They will ask you for an ID and also weigh you if appear thin just to make sure!. In fact they might force you to have a blood transfusion!. They will take some from a sick patient to make sure you have enough!.
You know they will strap you and then poke some holes with a thick needle, till they find a good vein, and if they can't they will just make a hole in your stomach and pour the blood in!.

ummm yeah! if you don't qualify why would you give blood!? if you're takin medicines that inhibit you from donating blood, they will find it and won't use it anyways
