Question: How do I calm cigarrette cravings without eating!?
Since I quit smoking a few days ago, I'm constantly hungry!. I can't stop eating! I still exercise but this is killing me!. I want to go back to smoking just so I'll stop eating!. I'm coming so close to going to the gas station right now to buy cigarrettes!. Please helpWww@Answer-Health@Com

I can definitely relate!.!.!. I smoked pretty regularly then I started taking pain medicine and my cravings went through the roof so I decided that I wanted to quit- I couldn't control my intake as well!.

Unfortunately, there isn't a magic way to stop cravings!. Gum can be very helpful but for me, part of it was wanting to put my hand to my mouth constantly!. When I am in class I stick in a pen in there all the time to satiate that urge!.

The eating of course can be problematic if you want to stay healthy but I think you should find a balance!.!.!. the intense desire to eat shouldn't stay too long after you quit smoking so you can eat healthy foods now!. Baby carrots are a great option!.!.!. they are similar in size and shape to cigarettes and very low in calories!. Also celery sticks and rice cakes are two examples from the top of my head that you can snack on quite a bit without racking up a huge daily caloric intake!.

The number one reason why teenage girls smoke is to lose or maintain their weight and this motivation often makes quitting difficult!. Women gain about 10 lbs on average when they quit!.

I have health conditions where excess weight can be very problematic so I found that when I was quitting, if I set strict limits on what I could smoke a day and gradually reduced the number until I got used to not smoking in certain situations then quitting was a lot easier!. Whenever I tried to quit cold turkey I would go through the same thing as you did, go crazy and after a couple days I would inevitably hit up the gas station!.

Eliminating smoking has so many physical and psychological effects that quitting cold turkey is like throwing a frog into boiling water, it'll just jump out!. You need to turn up the temperature gradually and before you know it you will be a cooked frog who doesn't smoke!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've heard that chewing gum tends to occupy you enough to get through it!. If you're worried about gaining weight, get the sugar-free gum!. It's much better for you anyway!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

chew nicotine gum and do a rubix cube(or however you spell it) or sudoku or something!.!.!.!.my aunt did that and she said it really helped keep her mind off of wanting cigarettes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

water , a walk , tread mill or exercise bike if you have one !. unsesoned microwave popcorn , will not cause wieght gain !. stay calm !. it can be done good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com
