Answers:
You're probably talking about Part A and Part B, and it's not a choice between them!. Plans A & B are Medicare Supplements!.

Part A is Hospital coverage!. It is generally free to you if you (or a spouse) has worked 10 quarters and paid into the system!. It will have a $1024 per occurance deductible!. It is generally not optional!.

Part B is doctor and outpatient coverage and, although it is optional, most people get it!. In most cases if you don't there are penalties and time restrictions should you ever desire to get it in the future!. It will generally have a $96!.40 per month premium!. If you are low income you may get help paying this premium!. If you are high income you may have a higher premium!. You will have a $135 yearly deductible and then be responsible for 20% of the charges with no annual maximum!.

She may not currently need Part B if she is working and is covered under a group health plan at work!. If this is the case she'll need to get on Part B when she quits work and there will be no penalty!.

Medicare covers an average of 57% of a seniors' healthcare costs because of the deductibles and percentage that you have to pay!. For this reason most people will also get a Medicare Advantage plan (Part C) or a Medicare Supplement!. You must have both Part A and Part B to get a Medicare Advantage plan or Medicare Supplement!.

You will also need a Part D prescription plan!. Many Medicare Advantage plans will have Part D included!. None of the supplements will have Part D!. If you don't get a Part D plan there will be penalties and time restrictions should you ever desire to get on a plan!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
