Question: Can I get fired for this!?
I work in an ICU ward as a nurse's assistant!. Many of our patients are in comas and all that!. I thought it would brighten up their lives if I painted their fingernails while they were under!. I made them look very nice, nothing weird!. Well the head nurse went ballistic and told me to stay gone until the weekend!. Now I think I might get fired!. Why!?!? I was doing something nice for these people!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Most of the ICU's I have been around are so busy monitoring the health of the patient you don't have time for such frivilous things!.
You need to be turning patients,watching their NG
tubes,watching chest tubes,watching heart monitors,measuring ,emptying catheter bags and IF you have all of that under control there is PLENTY of other MEDICAL duties that require attention!. !. !. Restocking a crash cart,stocking blue pads,replentishing the tape stock etc!.
I hope you have learned your lesson and I doubt that you will get fired but you may get a reprimand!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

This is a very bad idea!. You should not be messing with a person when they are unconscious without having thier permission to do it before they become unconscious and even then you would need a written statement to show to your boss if she noticed it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
