Do employers normally want access to medical records?!
Question: Do employers normally want access to medical records!?
Answers:
Yes, usually for a pre-employment medical!. You must sign an authorisation for them which they send to your doctor!. Usually your doctor will then send your records either to your company doctor/occupational health department, or a private doctor who is contracted by your company!.
This is to ensure that you are healthy enough to do your job, that you're not taking any medications which will directly affect your safety etc!. For example - if you are getting employed as an airline pilot, they will want to know whether you've attempted suicide in the past etc!.
Depends what kind of company you're going to work for - if you're going to work for a small private place, they probably won't bother with it!. It's usually the bigger companies - anywhere with a HR department lol!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
