Question: I think I'm addicted to sugar!. Please help!. Serious!?
I think I'm addicted to sugar!. I can't go a day without it!. everytime I try to get away from it!.!.!. it comes back!. I either have a wad of candy throughout the day!. Cookies or ice cream when i get home!. I LOVE candy! Help!.!.!. How do I resist!? This is not a joke!. It's so bad for my teeth!.!.!. my body!.!.!. my health!.Www@Answer-Health@Com


Answers:
Try going cold turkey for a week!. Read all about diabetes, insulin problems, and how it affects your life once you get them, for motivation!. If you manage one week, extend it to two weeks!.

If you try this and it doesn't work, or you just can't last the week, replace at least half your sugary snacks with grapes, pineapple chunks, tangerine segments, mango and any other very sweet fruit!. Once you get used to these you can start replacing more and more of your snacks with fruit!. Then replace the supersweet fruit like grapes for slightly less sweet (but still sweet) fruits like apples!. Slowly, you will have weened yourself onto fruit and fructose sugars and away from refined sugars like sucrose!.

Your body can handle this sugar much better, and it will not cause all the problems associated with refined sugars!. Try to simultaneousy increase the relative amounts of vegetables in your diet, so your pallate gets used to a less and less sugary overall intake!.

Well to start off-it's good that you realize it's bad for you and that you want to stop!.


Don't try to all of a sudden just stop eating sugar!. Take yourself off of it slowly-it'll be easier on your cravings!. Another thing-you're going to have to do it the old fashion way by simply telling yourself no!. There is no magic words or a special food that will take away the cravings!. If you're hungry and can't only eat 3 meals, try eating 5 smaller meals throughout the day!.


Try substituting different foods in!. Like right now I could reallllyyy go cookies or some ice cream, but at the moment I have a pretzel rod in my mouth!.

Also, don't think of it as like you can't eat sugar ever!. You can eat it, but in moderation!. You can look at it as a daily process!.

I was too, and kind of as a result I ended up with insulin resistance (pre-diabetes) and a candida overgrowth problem!. Trust me, you don't want either!. Honestly, the best way to go about it is to stop cold turkey--but you have to stop white flour and sugar, because both turn into sugar very quickly in your body and feed the sugar cravings!. Don't try to use sugar substitutes, because they don't help--they still raise your blood sugar or insulin level because they trigger something in your brain that tells you it's sweet!. I can tell you that the first two weeks or so are hellish, but then you slowly lose the cravings and if you were to try anything super sweet again it'd be gross--too sweet!. I tasted soda and thought it waaaayyyy too sweet!. Honestly, hon!.!.!.sugar is one of the worst things you can feed your body!. You'll be better off in the long run if you can find the will power to quit cold turkey!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is hard to do!. I was like you, obsessed with it, and now because of that, I have developed Type 2 Diabetes!. The best thing I can tell you is to get sugar free stuff, because a lot of the chocolates taste so much like the regular that you won't believe it!. Also, you can allow yourself a bit everyday, to "ween" yourself off of eating so much!. Go to google, and print off some info about diabetes!. Buy a whole bag of those mexican candies and after reaching for a few of those for a sugar fix, you will never touch sugar again!.

Hmmm, Might I suggest trying sugar substitutes!? They have sugar free chocolates, toffes and such that dont taste too bad!. Also try using splenda or sweet and low in coffee!. I used to have a sugar crutch a little myself till i started using substitutes!. I am not sure if it is really the suguar you are addicted to or the sweet taste!. but at any rate, try giving the lternatives a try!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I CAN RELATE TO YOU! It's just that when my parents bought all this ice cream and candy and stuff, and i ate it everyday but my blood pressure went so high! it wasn't even funny!. so after that my parents do not by that much sweet anymore :( but if you do want to get away from sweets, you could by mangos, apples, kiwis, and cherries annd more! you could juice them in your juicer and make healthy smoothies with the fruits!. You could put fruits as your substitute(however you spell it) for sweets!. That's what i did and it worked!. Sorry that i'm going on and on but, i'm not saying you shouldn't eat candy and ice cream, you should just eat it every once in a while! Oh and instead of ice cream you could make frozen yogurt!? you can use strawberries!. it tastes really good! My mom made some before!. Well sorry that this is so long!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i seem to crave sweets esp!. at night!. i read that if you eat proteins you won't get hungry as fast!.also the more sweets youeat, the more you crave!. i tried it and IT'S TRUE! sooo i make sure i eat a protein for b'fast!.!.!.cooked foods or boiled egg, even a cheesestick!. it works!. also i find creamsavers yogurt fills the void for sweets quite well; like i don't crave ice cream nearly as often!.

you don't tell yr age so if you're a teen ask your mom not to have all the sugary stuff in the house!. if youbuythe groceries, you ar eincharge of whats inthe house!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I sometimes think I have that same problem, what I do to get rid of the sugar is anytime I think I want some I get occupied!. Also, if you want something sweet try to substitute with natural sugar like fruit, its better for your health!. Just work on it slowly and you should be able to break the habitWww@Answer-Health@Com

I thought I couldn't live without Pepsi but I did, for a week!. You just have to eat something healthier to replace your addiction!. I'm sure you can find other healthy things that you enjoy!. It is okay to have a piece of candy a day, but it seems you are way too addicted to do that once you stop!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Luckily your young!. Developing bad habits at a critical age of development will have long term affects!.

Obviously, it will corrode your teeth, it is horrible for your body, and may contribute to Diabetes and obesity later in life!.

I feel the same way! Mine isn't so much candy, but anything with sugar!. I get a head ache if I don't have it!. I'm beginning to think I do have a sugar problem b/c once I take just a bite, I'm fine!. I don't need a whole bowl of ice cream, just a bite or two!. It's weird!?!?!!?!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Get rid of all the sugar in your house!. If you're a teenager, tell your parents to get rid of it!. Or keep it away from you!. Just DON'T BUY IT!. Also, a nutritionist might help!. My friend would only eat celery and drink diet coke for 5 months straight!. She saw a nutritionist, and now she eats normally!. Hope this helped!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Watch the movie Super Size Me - the one about the guy who ate McDonalds food for a month to see what would happen!? I just watched it the other day on Netflix Instant!. They had a part on there where they showed a guy getting that surgery where they suck the fat out of your stomach!. OMG, I've been eating better ever since!. i think i have the same problem!. ive tried not to eaty it but i cnt resist!.

I just drink water now, i buy bottle water and every time i go to eat some thing i get a bottle and drink that instead!.

Instead of eating junk, try eating fruit like grapes, melons and oranges which can all with natural sugar so they will be sweet!. It will take that sugar craving feeling away and its healthy at the same time!. GOODLUCK!Www@Answer-Health@Com
