Question: I'm losing weight, but my hair is getting very dry and falling out!. Anyone else experience this!?
Looking at my family, we dont' have much a history at all of hair loss!. My hair used to have some oil but now it's just super dry and when I take showers a lot falls out!.

I don't think it's lack of nutrients or vitamins, as I do eat a lot and make a point to eat variety!. I've been exercising a lot for the last year and this has been going on for the last year!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think the nutrient that you are missing is cod liver oil!. It grows hair and nails!. I went through a weight loss and my hair was thinning and my nails were brittle!. I started taking a cod liver oil capsule everyday and my hair stopped falling out and my nails went back to normal!. Cod liver oil by the way is the natural oil from fish!. It's also good for your skin!. Also i would cook with olive oil exclusively, and eat foods that contain Omega 3!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Check with your MD or a nutritionist!.
Hypothyroidism (low thyroid) can cause hair to get dry & fall out!.
Get your thyroid tested!.!.!.ask for MD to do following tests & if results are low normal, to treat you: TSH; Free T#;Free T4; Calculated T4; Calculated T3; TRH!.

Also get your DHT dihydrotestoserone checked!. This is androgenicc hormone that is a metabolite of testosterone & has to do with hair loss!.
You can take a DHT inhibitor!. (Proscar, Propecia, Atrovert)!.

Get shampoo for dry hair & condition every time you shampoo!. Don't wash hair every day!.

Take a good multi-vitamin/mineral!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Check your protein intake!. Lack or protein can cause thinning hair (my vegetarian daughter who refuses to learn how to get good vegetarian protein is finding this out!.) If you're watching meat because of fat content or if you're dramatically increased your strength training, you may need more protein!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Are you drinking enough water!? You should be drinking at least 4 16Oz bottles of water a day or 8 8oz glasses of water!. If that does not help you should see a doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
