Blood Dye for MRI?!

Question: Blood Dye for MRI!?
Im 15 and I got a MRI today!. It was my second recently, I had an open MRI last week, but the results were inconclusive on the condition of my knee ( I screwed it up BAD), so the doc arranged another MRI at a hospital with a higher magnet!. He had it done with and without contrast!. I had a needle in my arm for the remainder of the contrast MRI!. The nurse said she was putting in dye to make things show up!. I was told to drink lots of fluids for the next 2 days to get the dye out of my system!.

What is this dye that they injected into my arm!? Why will fluids help get it out and what will happen if I cant get the necessary amount of water over the next few days!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
don't let that freak you out!. The contrast dye will not hurt you!.!. I had 2 MRI's a year from the ages of 11-21 and all with contrast!. I was never told to drink fluids to get the dye out of my system!. It is completely non-toxic, and will go away by itself!.
