Question: Why does my doctor do this!?!?
Hi,
I had spine surgery 7 months ago, and everytime I ask me surgeon something it's like he completely ignores what I am saying!. For the first 2 months he answered any of my questions!. But, now he never calls back my mom or I back when we were trying to get ahold of him for my physical therapy, or the time I feel down on the ice!.
I want to get a new doctor, but my mom said no(I can't do much about that, I'm 14)!. She thinks he is a good doctor!.

Unfortunately, this is how many surgeons operate (no pun intended)!. "Wham-bam-thank-you-mam" after your surgeon!. "I've done my job" is what what surgeon told his patient!. We another one that refuses to fill pain meds for his post surgical patients, insisting they see their primary physician!.

Alot of doctors think because of your age,you are not going to understand what they have to say and would rather talk to an adult present!.!.I would explain to your mom that you have questions to,so that she wont be upset if you explained that to the doctor!.!. Even though your a minor,its still your body and questions are meant to help you understand whats going on with your body or what you can and cant do!.!.I will takl to your mom first and then tell the doctor you are the patient,not your mom!Www@Answer-Health@Com
i'm so that happened!. all i can say is try to get a new doctor!. he really doesn't sound like a good doctor!. i would either report him or you can consult one of the nurses working there!.
