Mouth/Tongue problem?!

Question: Mouth/Tongue problem!?
I recently noticed that the back of my tongue is kind of rough, and about a hour after eating discolors (turns kind of yellowish or white)!. As far as I can tell, its just the very back of my tongue and not part of the roof of my mouth or throat!. I have no idea how long I have had this problem as I don't look at my mouth regularly!. I tried a tongue scraper which works, but the problem just comes back a few hours later!.!.!.

I keep very good oral hygiene (brush twice a day and floss) and never even had so much as a cavity!.!.!. All I can think of is that i had a nasal infection a few months ago!. Or at the beginning of allergy season, I had a very dry mouth for several weeks!.!.!. This is pretty gross and am going to the doctor soon if it doesn't clear up, but has anyone else had a similar problem or any ideas on what it is!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
A yellow tongue is caused by enlargement of the tiny projections (papillae) on the surface of the tongue, which can occur in otherwise healthy people!. The yellow color typically results from the production of pigments (porphyrins) made by certain types of bacteria in the mouth!. Occasionally, these pigments may also have a brown or black appearance!.

A yellow tongue usually is a temporary, harmless problem!. Many things can cause enlargement of the papillae, including smoking, mild dehydration, fever or mouth breathing such as due to nasal congestion!.

If the discoloration bothers you, try gently brushing your tongue with a solution that is 1 part hydrogen peroxide and 5 parts water!. Rinse your mouth with water afterward!. Quitting smoking and increasing fiber in your diet may also help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
