should i take two or three, even though it said take one!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
The whole situation with them seems to be random, opinions vary, most people i know with hay fever just breathe deeply and get on with their life, and the malaise seems eventually to go away!. Mostly it`s an allergy and they can be self curing in the long run, especialy as one gets older!.
It does sound as if your tablets are not doing any good for you anyway!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I took Piriton for years for Hayfever and asthma, these can be bought over the counter at the chemist, fairly reasonably (the chemists own brand is usually cheaper), only problem is piriton makes me sleepy, I earned the nickname comatose while taking them, they may not make you drowsy though, try some, and see, only take one though!. If they make you drowsy, try a different tablet!.
After a chat with my GP, i now get loratadine, prescribed by my GP, these do not make you drowsy, and, you only need to take one a day, instaed of 4 to 6 hours, if you decide to try these, they are quite a lot more expensive than piriton, if you buy over the counter!.
These tablets are anti histomines, which means that the body, has less of a severe reaction to alergens, they work well with hey fever, and, also in my case asthma, which gets triggered by animal hairs and dust (In my case I believe they may have prolonged my life, during severe asthma attacks)!.
I also, heard that Hospitals use anti histomines if someone gets admitted while in anaphylactic shock (life threatening alergic reaction)!.
Hope this helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should really only take the prescribed dose, but with my tablets, zyrtec, if my hayfever is severe the doctor says to take one in the morning on getting out of bed and one in the early evening!. I must add that my hayfever brings on my asthma when it is very severe!. Zyrtec doesn't make me drowsy at all and I find it very efficient!. One tip for you, smear a little vaseline around inside your nostrils in the morning, it will help 'trap' the pollen spores, which are what gives you hayfever!. If your eyes are itchy, (I know that feeling), go to the pharmacy and ask for homeopathic drops to relieve the symptoms!. I use euphrasia stillidoses but you may not be able to get them where you live!. Using a few drops eucalyptus essential oil in boiling water will help to clear a stuffy nose and a stuffy head!. Good luck, but ask your doctor or chemist about the doses you can take for the anti hayfever medicine!. you shouldn't never auto=prescribe, it can be dangerous!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I couldn't find any over the counter remedies that worked for me, but the doctor prescribed some tablets - which are now available non prescription - its called Levocetirizine and you can buy it off the shelf at Asda or boots for a couple of pounds!. He also prescribed flixonase nasal spray which is exellent!. It takes a few days to build up but it works a treat! Buy some seperate eyedrops as the tablets dont always work on your eyes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

What type of medication is it!? I've found that benadryl is the most effective hayfever remedy, but it knocks me out cold if I take too much!. And too much for me is half an adult dose!. I take one or two children's benadryl every 4-6 hours and it works really well!. The amount you take probably depends on things like age, weight, etc!.

I've tried things like clariton and zyrtec but nothing works like benadryl does for me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have quite severe hayfever and none of the tablets you can buy in shops worked for me!. So, I went to the doctors and they perscribed me some stronger ones that work a treat!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
