Question: Why one doesnot die!?
Why one dies when he/she CUTS his/her WRIST, but not if he/she ACCIDENTLY LOSTS HIS/her HAND/!.
Take an eg: A car passed over a man's hand, hand was cut!. HE WAS SAVED!
Another eg: A Woman Suicided by cutting her nerve (WRIST)

People who commit suicide by slitting their wrists sever their radial artery, which means rapid blood loss!.
Several arteries are severed in the amputation of a hand, however there was probably a quick response from passers by and by paramedics to stop the loss of blood!. As it was in a public area there were probably many people around to call an ambulance!. The suicide was probably done alone somewhere indoors in which case there would have been nobody to call for help, the woman would have lost consciousness and bled to death!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Many people who cut their wrists do so across the wrist area, sort of like left to right!. The arteries have small muscle rings which can contracts and restrict blood loss!. The veins have small valves in them which are designed to prevent backflow, which also serves to slow blood loss!. This does't completely stop blood loss, but does slow it down, allowing for more time for "rescue"!. Cutting down the arm in a palm to elbow direction also severs these muscles and valves, so blood flows freely!.

It depends on the exact place where the wound occurred, and how much time lapsed before the person was given treatment!. If a vein was cut, that is where blood is pumping through, and then starts coming out very quickly!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Crushing injuries/amputations often cause bleeding to stop in much the same way as a tourniquet does!.

uhh because the dude who got run over by a car got quick medical attention, and the woman who committed suicide lay on the floor and bled until she died!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
