they laproscopicly place a band around the stomach - causing it to be smaller and accept less food!. Go to LapBandSolutions!.com and get the facts!. I got the Lap Band 4-16-08 and I am down 23 pounds!. It cuts down on your eating and there is a diet to follow!. You lose the weight slower!. The surgery was "easy" for me!. Didn't have any pain just a little discomfort where the port is located!. This surgery is a tool, just like the gastric bypass, you have to do your part in making a success!. I got the lap band for health reasons!. My cardiologist did not want me to the gastric bypass because I had a pulmonary embolism and it hadn't been that long, so lapband was approved!.
