Question: Could we call the Health Department because our neighbors are attracting rats and mice!?
We have neighbors that are currently being investigated by the police!. They have six dogs, all of which are at least half pit bull!. They leave bags of dog food outside in their backyard at all times and are attracting rats and mice!. Their yard is littered with beer cans and cigarette packs!. They couldn't care less!. We live right next to them and the rats have are now in our house!. We hid a Mother's day card and Mrs!. Field's Cookies on a high shelf and the rats ate the cookies and carried away the card!.We looked in the attic and their was rat droppings there too!. They are in our house, attic, and garage and we are sick of it! The neighbors litter in everyone's yard and there are 18- 22 year olds skateboarding for hours each day!. Which keeps all the kids in my neighborhood inside because of their language!. They put skateboard ramps made out of tables in the middle of the road and skateboard right on front of our house!. There is always about six cars there!. what can we do!?thnksWww@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
In many respects the law of protection from harassment from neighbours and others in respect of property you own or occupy is based on the principle that every person's home is their castle!. The right to keep others out of your property is one of the defining characteristics of property ownership!. Those who are fortunate enough to own or rent their home are entitled to injunctions to prevent intrusion and damages to compensate for loss/distress!.

Ask your neighbours politely to clean up!. If they do not take action within 7 days, you may have to!. Ensure that your request is also made in writing to your neighbours and that you keep a copy of the letter!.

Report them to your local council!. Keep a log of dates and times when certain incidences have occurred!. Ask other neighbours if they have any concerns!. What they are doing is illigal, it needs to be dealt with before it gets any worse!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
