I then shadowed a doctor at local hospital!. I have an idea of what the real life of a doctor is like think I want to be one!. Do you think I am being too influenced by the media!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Everyone starts somewhere!. Besides once you started shadowing with a local doctor you are seeing what it is really like and forming your own opinions and not just reacting to what is on TV!. You are smart to do so!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I definatley believe you could very well be influenced by what they see on the media!.
I am studying criminology at university, and a lot of people believe it is exactly like the television show CSI or law and order!.
However when they begin to study it, they realise that television taints it to be something that it isnt!.
I believe you need to do a lot of researching, ask a doctor what it is like!.
You also need to be able to get the grades and have the time to be able to study for on an average 5 years to be qualified!.
it is a lengthy process!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There is nothing wrong with being influenced by the media in one's choice of a future profession!. As long as you do your additional research, as you describe, and still feel that this is what you want, should be fine!.

I would suggest also talking to professional counselors and asking to complete some job and skills aptitude tests for more guidance!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

when i was younger, i decided to become a policeman based on TV then after doing some work experience at a police station realised it wasn't all it's cracked up to be
the fact that you've shadowed a real doctor will help you make the decision do some more of that, it's good you've realised it's not really like 'House'Www@Answer-Health@Com
