Question: Do I need my tonsils out!?
I'm 16, and I've had a sore throat for about 2 weeks!. the first theory was because it was from my allergies!. but it hurts soo bad all the time!. I feel like all the walls and back of my throat are swollen, esp on one side!. could this mean I need my tonsils out!? If not, can you tell me what it might be!.!.and how to help it!? What happens after you have your tonsils taken out!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

well there may be a few things going on here!. do you have a fever!? are you tired all the time!? have you been tested for mono!? are the sides of your neck swollen!? you need to have a rapid strep to rule out strep throat, you need a cbc to rule out infection, and you need a throat culture to determine what antibiotic if any is needed!. persistent tonsillitis may require a tonsillectomy, consult an eent doctor!. good luck!. let me know how it turns out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
