Question: My six year old son has been complaining of tummy ache since this morning!. Advice, Please!!?
He went to school and when he got home told me that the teachers ignored him when he said he felt poorly (I will be having a word!.!.!.particularly as I had already made them aware of the fact he was not quite himself!)!. Anyhow, he got in at 3pm and said he wanted to go to bed, had a drink of water and ZONKED!. He is still asleep now, five hours later!. His temperature is raised slightly!. He is sweating, however!. That is not TOO unusal for him!.!.!.he seems to sweat alot for a boy his age!. I suffered with a bad belly last week and my son has recently been told he has asthma!. Cannot wake him for his evening inhaler!. I am doing regular checks and he is fairly restless!. I am in the U!.K!. and I know of NHS direct and am waiting on them to call back so in the meantime I am asking you good folk of Yahoo! Answerd what you think! Cheers and have Fun :0)Www@Answer-Health@Com

i have asthma, and the pollen count at the mo has been very high, and that could affects him, sleeps the best thing for him, its been very muggy today, and the storm that's on its way everywhere (we have it here now, Thunder and lightening pouring with rain,) will clear the air, his tummy ache could be a red herring, and its his general health that's making him feel poorly, give him his inhaler once he wakes!. hope he's feeling better soon!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Give him his inhaler!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then go see a doctor!. But for now just give him some Tylenol (when he wakes up of course) a change of clothes (for the sweating) and a wet wash-cloth on his forehead (that's what my mom used to give me when I got fevers)

Good luck I'm sure he'll be just fine :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

hmmm there's no history of appendicitus attacks in your family has there!? Seems familiar to me because i've had my appendicitus removed just recently!. Not quite sure though, your son might just have a bug!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

With children it always pays to get them checked out phone N H S Direct ask there advise!. You could phone your doctor & speak direct if he is still bad now take him to out patients!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Go to the doctor instead of posting something on yahooWww@Answer-Health@Com

He probably just has a flu bug and is tired and wiped out from it!. If your really worried, call the Dr!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Take him to A&E instead of wasting time on here!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

What do you mean by you cant wake him!? You must!. Put a warm flamel on his face to rouse him gently !. !. Im sure he is but its important you check if he is conscious !. Not only that but he needs fluids!.
Check his temperature and whether he is speaking and moving normally!. Take his temperature again!. It will be higher at night but you need to check what it is in case you need to tepid sponge!.
Ask him to pass urine !. That will gewt him up and you can see if its brown dark(needing more fluids)!. Give him fluids ++ and see if he will eat something he likes ei ice cream or something he normally loves!.
With all this info you can give a good history to the nurse or doctor!.
The main thing is you get him up now and see how he is!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A tummy ache and low grade fever is not necessarily something to run to the Emergency Room for!. I think you took the right actions; however if you are still worried -
something else you might try to check for appendicitis is to press on the LEFT lower side of his tummy!. When you release it, if he has pain on the RIGHT side this is called rebound tenderness and can be a symptom of appendicitis!. The pain in his tummy can also be caused by trapped gas caused by bacteria or virus!. Try some over the counter med like Gas-X, or anything w/simethecone in it to relieve gassy pains if they continue!. Hope this helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com

where abouts does his tummy hurt hope its not the bottom right hand side as this could be rumbling appendix or has he eaten anything to upset him had sickness diarrhoea etc
all i can say is you have done the right thing in ringing the Dr and nhs there the experts and i hope he feels better soon as were not doctors on here we can not diagnose just advise and be there for you but good luck with the GP and nhs let us know how he gets on you can add on to your question xWww@Answer-Health@Com

appendicitis is not hereditery!.my son had his out last year!.he was 9!.the dr said symptons for everyone is different!.u laways hear it is accompanied by fever,nausea/vomoitting and of course the pain!.my son had fever only the second day after he started complaining about the pain and no nausea or vomitting!.so the first day he had pain!.but was still walking and playing!.second day was the worst w/high fever and lots of pain in the evening but because we had just come from a family get together where he was running and horseplaying i figures he was just exhausted!.so i medicated him w/ibuprofen and he slept the rest of the night!.the next day he woke up fine and went to school!.about midday the school called and again he was in pain!.no other symptoms!.so off to the dr we went!.well he was sent to the ER and ended up having emergency surgery!.the one thing the dr did say was a forsure sign of appendicitis is when u push down ont he abdomen the pain is felt when u release ur hand not the actual pushing down!.so if u push down slightly on his stomach and he's in pain when u let go then it may be that!.hope he feels better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
