I really depends on what proceedure was performed during the colposcopy!. Did anything get biopsied, repaired, removed or otherwise require surgical intervention during the colposcopy!? If not, the wall may have been torn inadvertantly resulting in bleeding!. Also, how much bleeding!? What is the color - light or dark, cloting or flowing!? Is your mom on any meds which make her more inclined to bleed!? (Aspirin, Ibuprofen, warfarin etc!.) This is really a question which should be answered by your mom's obgyn who performed the proceedure and if the bleeding is excessive or prolonged, she needs to be seen!. The proceedure itself (examination using a coposcope) should not result in bleeding at all!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
It shouldn't last too long, unless she's been hemorraging, and if so, they should have maybe put her on birth control pills to stop it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
