If the congestion worsens or if the discharge turns from clear to yellow/green, if you start running a high fever, or if you feel any respiratory distress (shortness of breath/rapid breathing, wheezing, heart pounding, chest pain, etc!.) Also, if you have new symptoms such as severe sore throat, severe headache, loss of appetite, or extreme lethargy!. These could be signs that it is turning into a bacterial infection!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If it lasts more than a week to ten days it's a cold!. If you're coughing your head off night after night and it doesn't get better, it's more!. If you have trouble breathing it's more!. If your nose keeps running with a tremendous amount of mucous after the week to ten days, it's more than a cold!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Extreme pain in the chest when coughing could indicate the 'cold' has migrated to the chest and caused a chest infection!.
But you sound as though you are doing the right thing!.
Plenty of warmth, and liquids!. Nothing else to do but sweat it out, I'm afraid!.
I swear by 'Lem-sips'!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well first off small colds are normally just held in your sinus', but if it progresses into a bad cold it can extend into your throat and ears of course!.
Which can lead to extreme sore throats that can be misdiagnosed as strep, severe ear infections that can be misconstrued as swimmers ear!.
Here is what you do for an intensely bad cold!.
You start by cutting junk food out of your diet and adding more water than your used to drinking ( a half gallon a day or more, comfortably, don't force feed yourself just sip) the more fluids you run through your body the more of the virus your pushing out with them!.
You need plenty of veggies and fruits and white meats, Chicken and fish as most red meats and pork contain parasites your body has a hard time handling WITHOUT the cold!.

What always helps me ditch a cold in a few weeks or less is garlic and vitamin C!.

This will wipe out your cold, but if it doesn't!.!.!.!.
You may be looking at a sinus infection, it will take much more time to cure!.

I know, your thinking, "Why haven't you told me about something more serious that I can't cure!?" Because honestly, there is almost nothing when it comes to colds, extreme colds, fevers and so forth you can't cure at home, but if you take garlic every day (you can get these in pill form at any store with a vitamin section) and plenty of vitamin C in pill form or fresh, and your cold does not go away for a month, you need to go to the hospital!.

People rush to the doctors for everything now, and its not helping our bodies or our wallets!.
If we treat our symptoms properly and give our bodies the needed food and vitamins to power through infections we won't have to see the doctor half so often!.

Don't worry, I don't its going to get worse, just relax, (reduce your stress or it will take longer to heal) and get plenty of sleep! The less you sleep, the less your body gets that repair cycle it so badly needs!

Feel better!Www@Answer-Health@Com
