It depends where they are located!.
To begin with, it's good to eliminate the easy option!. Phone the hopspital or doc and ask for them!.
If they say 'OK', problem solved!.
If they say no, things can get tricky!. Medical records actually belong to the doctor, NOT the patient, and the patient does not even necessarily have a right to access the records!.
Most docs will send your records on if you are moving, but some won't!.
Some people have also told me they have had to lodge (and pay for ) Freedom Of Information requests to get their medical records from a hospital!.
Personally, I'd try the easy approach first ~ contact the doc/hospital by phone or mail, explain you are moving to a new area and need your records!. Ask if they will send them to your new doc!.
If you need the records for a third party or compo claim, they will usually provide them for a fee (your solicitor will know how to do this)!.

I don't know about in Queensland but typically calling the doctors you've seen and asking for your medical records will suffice!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
