Smokers and x-smokers, what is the best way to cut down (not quit) smoking?!


Question: Smokers and x-smokers, what is the best way to cut down (not quit) smoking!?
I've been a pack a day smoker for the past 16 years (since age 16) and want to cut down to 5 to 10 cigs per day!. I dont want to quit as I really enjoy smoking but I do want to cut back as I find smoking a pack a day is starting to affect my daily workouts!.

Any hints as to how to cut the amount I smoke in half!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Think about which cigarettes are the most "enjoyable",ie, first one in the morning, one after lunch, one after dinner, one after workouts, one right before bed, and then compare them to ones you probably could do without, second cigarette of a chain smoke, one right before a meal, ones you smoke just to be doing something!. Try and prioritize and cut out the less enjoyable ones!. If the nicotine cravings are too much, ive found that supplementing commit louzenges to be a good substitute in between those few smokes a day!. They wont replace every aspect of a craving to smoke, but will help with the nasty physical nicotine withdrawl!. Knowing that you have a real cigarette coming later in the day really helps!. Also cutting down on alcohol and coffee or anything else that lends itself to a cigarette in the other hand will help!. Lastly, try and stay away from situations where your smoking just because people around you are smoking!. Many people take two sets of smoking breaks, one that they "need" and ones that they take because they see a friend or coworker smoking and its something to do!. Hope this helpsWww@Answer-Health@Com

I bought a little case that only held 16 cigarettes in it and used that to limit how many I smoked!. You choose how many you take with you and thus how many you smoke!. Plus it was stylish as hell!. Also I was having a drink of water whenever I wanted a smoke and that seemed to help having something different to do!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

hi kelly!. the best way to cut down is to give some time between cigarettes !. if u can resist not having a cigarette after the other then dont smoke it till u cant handle it anymore !. i tried that and it worked for sometime ,but well im back to the same amount !. but really this is a good way to try cut down !. just tell urself "i just smoked one,ill smoke another when i need it badly" !.

Make each cigarette a treat, so if you do a good workout or something nice for someone else, have a smoke!. You could also have designated smoke breaks at specific times to make sure you don't have more than your 5-a-day or whatever!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

When I was cutting down to quit, I would brush my teeth when I wanted to smoke!. If I wasn't at home, I would chew Orbitz gum (The pink pack) cause it made me feel like I had just brushed my teeth!. It worked and I had whiter teeth!Www@Answer-Health@Com
