Question: Annual health checkup!.!.what do they do!?!?!?
i have a doctors appt!. coming up soon (justa physical), but im SCARED OUT OF MY WITS TO GO! im literally shaking right now as i write this!! please tell me what they will do to a 15year old (will be 15 in july)!! will they do the same things i did wehn i went for a physical when i was 13!?!?! name everything they will do please!! ahh, i need to prepare myself for this!! help! im a nervous wreck!! seriously and literally!!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Calm down, they aren't going to hurt you!. They are basically going to do the same things you had done when you were 13!. They measure your height and weight, take your vital signs(blood pressure, pulse, respiration)!. You may have to pee in a cup(in the privacy of a bathroom) because they need to check your urine for proteins and sugar!. They will have you face away from them and have you bend over so they can check your spinal movement!. They will look in your mouth and ears and eyes with their little scopes (totally painless)!. Depending on what you need you may have to have a vaccination or a blood test which is just a small needle prick!. My two boys fuss a lot about the blood test and/or vaccines until it's over; then they always look at me and say, "Is that all!?!." Every time!. You don't have to feel embarrassed because the doctor does this sort of thing all the time so it has no meaning for him other than assuring that you are growing up strong and healthy!. That is what your doctor cares about the most is your health!. It really isn't a big deal and I assure you that your worrying is much worse than anything that will happen!. I imagine that after it is all over you will be wondering the same thing my boys do, "That's all!?" If you are worring about seeing a GYN and having one of those female exams, unless you are sexually active you won't need to see a GYN doctor until you are over 18!. Calm down!. Is the doctor's appt!. for the Gynecologist or just a regular doctor!? If it is the regular doctor when they give you a physical they just weigh you, check your blood pressure (no needles or anything), ask about your last period, look in your ears, at your eyes, maybe check your vision, look in your throat, maybe give you a fitness test depending on what your physical is for!. No big deal mamma!. :) It's alright!.

dont be scared everyone goes through it!. im guessing your a female (ann)!. I wouldnt worry about getting the pap smear which is probably what your freaking out about unless you ask every doctor ive talked to doesnt find it nessessary until your 18 unless your sexually active!. you know you can call your doctor and ask them exactly what they would be doing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
