Diet coke??!


Question: Diet coke!?!?
i'm a diet coke addict!. other than it being bad for my teeth, are there any other downfalls!? i've had a few people tell me it causes you to gain weight!.!.!. is that true!? even if it's diet!? i rarely drink water!. i go through about 10 cans of diet coke a day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

first of all any fizzy drink is carbonated (carbon dioxide is added) to make it fizzy this make the drink acidic which will affect your stomachs own acid levels which can lead to reflux (stomach juices coming into your oesophagus) which can give you heart burn or an unpleasant taste in your mouth, then the drink is caffeinated caffeine is an alkolid (like nicotine) which is why it is addictive but also caffeine is a diuretic which causes the kidneys to work over time so you go to toilet more often, aspartame is the artificial sweetner in diet coke it is said it is carcinogenic (cancer causing) however this is unfounded

all carboanted drinks start off as a syrup from the production process from coca-cola, pepsi etc!.!. water and sugar/sweetner is then added although water is present in all carbonated drinks they actually dehydrate you becuase of the caffeine, aspartame/sugar (as too much sugar causes a diuretic effect aswell), phenylalanine and other compounds found in this well liked drink

Yup causes alot of weight and big time for you if you're drinking 10 a day!. We don't even have diet coke here and i can't get soda on Monday, Tuesday, Wendesday, Thursday, And I only get one on Friday, Saturday, And Sunday, And if i'm lucky I can get a second soda on Saturday!. How would you like it if u can only have 1 soda on Friday Saturday and Sunday!. And that goes for the summer too! I don't know why my mom and dad did that! But the good thing is i don't get even more fat! Except on the 4th of July I can get as much soda as i want! And stuff like that causes diabetes!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am a diet pepsi freak myself!. I don't think it makes you gain weight but my doctor said it is not good to drink so much of it as there aren't any nutrients in drinking a diet soda!. I am addicted to the caffeine and without drinking the soda I get a terrible headache!! Caffeine is the culprit here that is not the best for our systems but I need this boost each day; feel like I can't perform without my diet soda!. I drink my sodas thru a straw which does help in the discoloring of the teeth!. I have tried to cut down some but can't live without my morning bottle of diet soda to start the day!. It is impossible for it to cause diabetes because it has no sugar! It is bad for your teeth but it doesn't lead to weight gain because it had such few calories and not fat or sugar!. However it can cause cellulite on your legs and bum which isn't very attractive!. If you are watching your weight stay on the diet coke but try to cut down to under 5 - 10 is crazy!

Aspartame is linked to depression, weight gain, and i think stomach ulcers!.!.!. dont quote me on that last one!.!.!. you be the judge, 1 a day is good i used to bang out 8 a day when I was 21, it took about a month to pull myself down to 1-2 a day, then eventually cut it out entirely!.!.!.I havent had a full soda in probably 10 months!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Switching to diet soda helped me lose about 60 pounds, from losing all that sugar from regular soda!.

If you want to cut back, switch to 2 liter bottles which require you go to get up and get another drink!. Cans are just too convenient to suck down left and right!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am not sure of the exacts, but there is issue with the artificial sweetener!. I have fibromyalgia and I am a Dr!. Pepper addict, I decided to go with Diet and it actually made me feel worse due to the sweetener!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Diet Coke/Regular Coke and sugar in general does not cause Diabetes!. The only reason it would cause weight gain would be due to the sodium (which adds up in 10 cans)!. The sodium will cause fluid retention and that adds weight!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
