What does a catheter feel like?!
Question: What does a catheter feel like!?
I'm having scoliosis surgery this summer and they'll be putting a catheter in!.
I'll be asleep when they put it in but what does it feel like while it's in, when I wake up and when they take it out!?

I had two fusions, each with a catheter!. Both were "installed" while I was asleep so I didn't feel it going in!. This will be true for you also!.
I really didn't notice it when it was in!. You'll be walking a bit with it in, but besides that, you'll be mostly in bed!. There's not a lot of moving it around then!.
To take it out, they just pull it out!. It is an uncomfortable feeling, but really no big deal!.
The people that said it was painful may have had it inserted while they were awake!. They don't say!. I know that it won't bother you, though!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ugh, I hated when I had to get that done when I was like 9 or 8!. They said I was a better patient than 16 year olds and that's pretty good!.
I was awake the whole time and go to watch everything!.!.!. it just feels like a tube going up you and then I think they spray water up there, and then whenever everything is done you pee it all out!.

i don't know if it's as painful for women as it is for men!. as a man i'll tell you it's one of the most uncomfortable things ever!. the pee hole of a guy is much smaller than a girl though!. so maybe it won't hurt that much!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
