Answers:
First, Mr!. XXX, you are not alone!. Many people wear diapers - who are not toddlers - for need, for medical use, for comfort, for fun, for fetish, for emotional reasons and as a personal preference!.

It sounds as if you really want to stop wearing diaper but that you feel great anxiety about this!.

I require the use of diapers on specific occasions and incidences!. Born prematurely which resulted in Cerebral Palsy, I did not have full bladder control until I was in second grade!. I wore dispers at times and my parents learned to send me to school with extra underwear and pants, etc!.

In 2004, my occasional incontinence turned out to be a condition under the label Irritable Bowel Syndrome!. Regardless of what I eat, my intestines and bowels cannot seem to break down food properly!. I can eat an apple on Monday and be fine; I can eat an apple on Wednesday and within 15 minutes have it in the toilet!. My IBS related ''accidents'' happen with no warning!. Hence, the diapers!.

I also wear diapers for feminine reasons!. To give my body a break between tampons to reduce the risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome, I will wear diapers!.

And, to be frankly honest, I LIKE my diapers!. I use the brand of TENA diapers - almost like underwear or Pull-Ons for Kids - and they work for me!.

WHAT YOU CAN DO!?

1!. STOP beating yourself up!. Yes, you wear diapers, you'd rather not, but right now you are using them; this is the fact!. It's okay!. Your difficulties with no longer wearing diapers may take longer if you can't give yourself a break!.

I think your rather smart, actually!. You wake up with a dry diaper, but you could have as easily woken up with a soiled one!. BEING PROACTIVE is something to be proud about, not ashamed!.

2!. FEELING ANXIOUS!. Your seemingly intense worry may be a factor in your difficulties!. If you wear diapers daily, try some of these:
-- PUT ON underwear in the morning!. Bring a couple of diapers and extra underwear to work with you!. You have the comfort of knowing that you have diapers in the vehicle if you need them!. If you don't want others to know you use diapers, you can buy a pack sack with either one or 2 straps, a ''man'' purse, a paper bag, a tote bag, etc!. to carry them into your actual workplace!.

-- CHALLENGE YOURSELF by trying to drive to work without wearing a diaper!. Unless you know or you are likely to medically need them, put them on the front seat!. As you drive, mentally tell yourself ''If I need my diapers, I know where they are!. But I know I can make it to work without one on!. I can do this!. I will be okay!.'' Then, when you get to work, pat yourself on the back, and immediately go to the washroom and definitely put on a diaper - even if you don't need it, PUT a diaper on!

THE GOAL is part of POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT!. You want to not use diapers, but this probably won't happen overnight!. To help you with your anxiety, I suggest a GRADUAL seperation - your goal to combat your discomfort is driving to work without wearing a diaper!. Your REWARD when you do this is to PUT a diaper on at work!.

You have done it! - faced fear, got to work on time, did not need to turn back to go home to get a diaper, wore both underwear and a diaper! If it doesn't work the first or even third time you try it, that's absolutely fine! The next morning or night, try again - and keep trying until you successfully do the above!. When this happens, do the same the next day, and the next!. Eventually, you likely won't even need to put diapers in the front seat - you can put them in the backseat - or better, you don't bring diapers to work at all!.

--BREATHE deeply!. This actually, truly works!

3!. LOOK AT DIET!. It may be a factor or it may not, but don't get up before work and drink soda!. Same thing as at night!.
Avoid foods that stimulate your bladder at times when you know it wouldn't be good!.

4!. GO TO YOUR M!.D!. Go for a check up, a blood or/and urine test!. You may have a medical issue causing you to wet yourself, one that maybe you and the doctor both missed before!. Ask about the causes of poor bladder control!. If your doctor is insensitive "Aren't you over this!? Only babies wear diapers!." You can say ''Babies can't ask about the causes of poor bladder control!. But I am!. Tell me what they are!.''

5!. REFERRAL!. Your doctor may be able to refer you to specialists - gastronologist, gyneocologists, endocrininologist, etc!.

6!. THERAPY!. NO, you're not crazy or weak!. A therapist can help you manage anxiety through strategies and techniques!.
Maybe all you need is a few sessions, once a week, to help you!. Maybe a couple of months!. Maybe you want to go more!.
But try to at least consider it!.

7!. SUPPORT!. Societies seem to have this thing that there are things you can't talk about!. I think this is utter rubbish!.
Feel free to IM me!. Surf the web for others who struggle with the same or similar difficulty!. Look in the phone book for ''disability'' or ''health'' groups that may be able to help you or give you resources!.

8!. If this difficulty is more emotional than medical, let's say you think you don't really ''need'' diapers - but wear them because you like them and you want too - but think you ''shouldn't'' because of your age or something else, try to keep wearing your diapers!. This IS YOUR life - nobody else's!

9!. AT HOME, wear diapers for a short while!. Then, switch to underwear!. Then back to a diaper!. Wear a diaper every other day!. Try bringing or wearing diapers to some places and not to others!.

10!. BE CREATIVE!. Buy a plastic sheet or two to put over the ones on your bed!. Wear underwear to bed!. If you find you have an accident, you can take off the plastic sheets [s] and go back to sleep!. Put the dirty sheet in a hamper and if you can, deal with later!. You can also use towels, old blankets, etc!. If you wake up and find yourself dry, but have the urge to put a diaper on, you can trade the underwear for it!.

11!. IDENTIFY!. Wear do you have the most accidents!? Why!? Where do you feel the insecure the most if you don't have one on or with you!? When in your life did you first begin using diapers!? Does anyone in the family or generations back have or have had the same/similar issue or a medical condition!? When is the last time you actually had an accident!? The answers may help point you in a direction for solutions or strategies to your situation or/and your feelings surrounding your situation!.

I really hope you keep us updated on your struggle!. I, for one, would like to know how everything turns out!.

I wish you peace!. Elizabeth!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You are insecure because you have had the problem for awhile!. Try not to wear a diaper ever other day for awhile and then for a couple of day--so on, so forth!. It is just a matter of breaking the habit and getting your confidence back!. Don't beat yourself up about this!. Your will eventually get back to the normal, but it may take a little time!. Good luck!. -:)Www@Answer-Health@Com

well first i would suggest stopping the use of diapers at home first and then when you gain your confidence, you can slowly stop using it at other places!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
