Random patch of dry skin on face, been there for a few months?!

Question: Random patch of dry skin on face, been there for a few months!?
I really don't know how/why this random patch of dry skin appeared!. I didn't change my beauty regime or anything!. I've been moisturising as usual, sometimes leaving a little more to soak into this area or else it looks all flakey when I put make-up on!. It's just on one side of my chin, constantly dry, rough, and flakey!. Doesn't look irritated other than that!. PLEASE help!?!Www@Answer-Health@Com

A dermatologist will be able to help & be the best choice (you might want to get it checked out of skin cancer), but if you don't want to go to that trouble:

1!. If your face skin is dry, try not to wash it with tap water since it often contains chlorine, fluoride, and other undesirable chemicals!. Instead, use cold mineral water or ice made with it, or, better, clean your face with an alcohol-free cleaning lotion, toner, or cosmetic milk, made of natural ingredients!. They gently refresh dry skin without causing irritation, while respecting its balance of moisture!. Toners and milks effectively remove daily impurities and makeup, purify and refine pores, and leave dry skin feeling clean, soft, and hydrated!.

2!. If your skin is dry and irritates easily, try to cut back on the amount of time you bathe or shower - some dermatologists even suggest spending no more than three minutes a day in water!. Use the mildest soap available and do not overdo it - use soap every other day only!. Scrubbing is usually not recommended for dry skin!. Instead, once a week use a mild oatmeal soap, which will gently exfoliate your skin without causing irritation!. After bathing or showering, do not rub your skin with a towel, instead, softly pat it dry!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hello,

I think you should consider the possibility of it being a mild patch of fungus infection, or 'tinea' to use the medical word!. This often starts on the face as a localized rash just on one side or the other, (not on both sides of the face at once)!. It is was that, it would typically be getting bigger slowly, and the clearest flakiness would be at the outside rim!.

It's also called 'ringworm' because it tends to form in a ring- shape, (it has nothing at all to do with worms)!.

I'm afraid pictures, tend to be chosen to show the disease at its worst: there are some good pics of tinea of the face at the reference below, but most cases are not even half as bad as this!.

It doesn't sound like eczema or seborrhoeic dermatitis!.

If it's a fungus infection, it is very curable, but it will probably need a combination of cream and tablets!. Really, you should have some (diagnostic) outside skin scrapings taken by a doctor *before* starting treatment, since treatment may have to be continued for some weeks at least!.

The cream is going to be something like Lamisil, but the tablets need a doctor's prescription!.

Hope this is of some help!.

You know, I think this might be exama (don't know how to spell it), or it could be this fungi thing I once had on my leg!. You have to put this certain lotion that you get from a dermatologist!. I suggest you go to the dermatologist either way!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Definately see a Dermatologist!. It sounds like a chance of skin cancer!.

I had a dry kind of translucant patch on my neck and that is what is was!. DR just took a small graph and had it tested!. No worries thank goodness!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had the same problem!. I just used Olay moisturizing lotion every night before i went to bead and it went away in like a week!. The lotion is also good if you have a really bad sun burn on your face!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
