Why do I always fall asleep when I read?!

Question: Why do I always fall asleep when I read!?
I have a real problem, whenever I am reading I drift off into sleep and awake a few seconds later!. It is really frustrating because this happens all the time no matter where I am or what I am reading,!.If I read about 2-3 lines I will suddenly wake up realising I drifted off again!. This is really effecting my life because I love to read!. I am able to force myself to stay awake but this takes all my concentration which makes it impossible to understand what I am reading!.
I am an ex-addict (clean for nearly two years now) and I am prescribed 6mg of buprenorphen (subutex) per day!. I have searched to see if this is a side effect but I cannot find any referance to this at all!. People generally say that Buprenorphen actually keeps them awake, not put them to sleep!. This is the only medication I am taking and my symptoms do coincide with when I first started to take this medication!. how can I prevent this!? Is there an alternative medication besides methadone!? Anyone else got the same problem!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
The subbies shouldn't be sending you to sleep, but they might be!. Any medication can affect people in different ways, so it may be having an effect, but if so, is it worth risking a change in meds!? the only other real option (avoiding methadone) is naltrexone, have a chat with your drug worker about it!.
It may of started as ytou got used to your script, if that disrupted your sleep patterns!. Do you get a good nights kip!? Do you have regular sleep patterns!? that may help!.
I found this question while looking for answers myself- I keep falling asleep when I'm trying to concentrate, so may be a similar problem!. The problem is, most of the medications for sleeping disorders are stimulants, not that I'm saying you would, but being scripted a load of speed may mess up your two years hard work!. something to consider!.!.!.
