Question: Are you in favour of Stem Cell Research!?
I for one, am!. It can bring about the change desperately needed in modern society!. We have all seen the news, we have all witnessed the horrible diseases many people are unfortunate to have!. It's about time they are cured!.
Some people moan about how embryo are killed in the process!. But I say this again and again!. The embryo will feel hardly any pain since it won't be developed enough AND more importantly, unlike the person being cured, the embryo has NO past!. It doesn't have any memories, nothing to look forward to!. It's almost an inanimate object!.

Look, everyone of us are entitled to our views!.i should,nt think that you have upset anyone here,i personally have negative and positive thoughts on the stem cell thing!.i really dont know what to think, i mean, just how long do people want to live, yes i suppose it would be great for finding cures for things, but,there is going to be some mad scientist out there will want to take things further!. and create some sort of monster, just for the hell of it, as long as there are guidelines and policies and laws put into action, as to what would be allowed in science, then ok!.But, really im afraid of what they,ll create!.I think we should leave nature alone sometimes!.be interesting to read other views on the issue lol!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Stem cell research is going to happen either here or in another country!. There are going to be lots of breakthroughs using that research!. When you can take cells and determine what kind of tissue they become, you can effectively treat lots of things!. Do I think fetuses should be aborted for that purpose!? NO WAY!. But as long as we can use umbilicals and other sources, then we should!. And under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should anyone be able to sell any part or form of a human being even for research purposes!. As far as leaving nature alone, if we had done that, there would be cures for nothing!. Polio is natural, malaria is natural, the flu is natural, DEATH is natural!. You apparently haven't done your research, as a main source of stem cells used for this is gotten from the umbilical cord of babies AFTER they are born!.

THe thing is, embryonic cells have been proven unstable!. They are the least type of stem cell used in any research!. There is no point in this debate!.
Although, just so people know, once an embryo has a certain amount of cells, stem cells can be harvested with no harm to the embryo!.
However, stem cells from the bone marrow, peripheral blood(type of white blood cell), cord blood and placenta donated after a healthy live birth, and now they can get stem cells from the skin and a couple other organs!. These cells have been proven useful, and many are fda approved!. I had a stem cell transplant last summer, here in the states, paid for by medicare and medicaid using cord blood for my leukemia!. These stem cell transplants are also used to treat lymphomas, myleomas, a few other blood disease, and the ptoentional to treat every single auto immune disease, maybe even aids!. They are also used in conjunction with organ transplants to give patients a chance to come off the anti rejection meds!. You can read about it at the National Marrow Donors Program for the US!. Beyond all that, Roe v Wade has not been over turned!. People throw away left over embryos from ivf!. I fully support taking these lives that no one wanted and making them mean something!. And most people do!. They are just afraid of what this could possibly lead to - the black market for embryos!. Women being paid to give their eggs for research, being paid to get preg then abortion!.
