Want To Advocate But Don't Know Where?!

Question: Want To Advocate But Don't Know Where!?
Hello - I am a late twenties Female who has Epilepsy!. I used to get frequent seizures until last year when I had brain surgery (NOT FUN)!. I am seizure free now!.

I want to send the message to children and teenagers (mostly) - perhaps adults but have not thought about it, who ride bikes, skateboard, rollerblade, etc!.!.!.!.!. and DO NOT wear helmets to wear them!. All it takes is one fall on the head and they can have seizures the rest of their life - this is the message I want to get out (as well as the fact that if you get seizures you cannot drive)!.

I know the Police in my city educate about bike safety, but I am sure they don't mention what could happen (aka - seizures) to the teens they talk to!.

I have been going online into teen chat rooms saying I am a late 20's Female & telling this short message & telling the teens to be safe, but I am just not comfortable doing that because the rooms are for teens!.

Does anyone know how I can be a safety advocate!? Any ideas on how!? Thx!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Call your local health department and your local hospital and see if they can advise you on where to start!. They may even have a program there at one of their facilities where you can get your start!. Or you could call your state or local board of education and let them know your story and see if you can get your foot in the door there!. If all else fails, try setting up a website dedicated especially to teens and yound adults!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
