Question: Why do people need their colon removed!? 10 pts for best answer!?
My dad was in the hospital for a few days and has been really hesitant with telling me why!. He eventually told me that he had his colon removed and had a colonoscopy but still hasn't really told me what's up!. Do any of you guys know what this could mean!? Please no fowl comments!.

The only reason a colon would be completely removed would be because the disease has spread and the safest option is to have it removed to prevent it from spreading to other parts of the body!. A colonoscopy is a screening of the colon to check for abnormalities or disease!. I would assume he didn't have a colectomy AND a colonoscopy!. If he's in seeing a doctor you shouldn't be to worried, at least at this point, total healing can begin!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
