Question: How does undercooking food cause food poisening!?*10 Points*!?
Answers:
Naturally-occurring bacteria live in the foods we eat (expecially meats) and thrive between certain temperatures!. When the food is kept cold, such as in the fridge or freezer, the bacteria cannot grow or reproduce!. When food is cooked it kills off the bacteria so that it cannot be transferred to you and make you sick!. Of course, if you do not properly refrigerate/cook your food, the bacteria will transfer to you and, wham, food poisoning!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

As others have already said, there is bacteria that occurs naturally in many of the foods we eat!. There is also bacteria that we introduce to foods through improper handling and storage!. Either way, cooking will kill that bacteria!.

However, if you don't raise the food to a high enough temperature (140 - 160 F) it will not only NOT kill the bacteria but will help the bacteria multiply!. Especially foods that have a high moisture/protein content!. This is what happens with crock pots!. They cook things slowly and at low temperature, so that hunk of meat sitting in all that juice is breeding and colonizing bacteria in the nice and warm environment that sometimes never gets hot enough to kill it!

My husband, a chef, says to be wary of semi-solid proteins at room temperature, like those cheeses they pour over chips and call nacho plates!.!.!. shudder!Www@Answer-Health@Com

when storing food, it must be kept at temperatures below 5 degrees celcius which stops the bacteria growing, and when cooking it must be heated to about 60 degrees celcius which kills the bacteria altogether!. thats because the temps between 5 and 60 are the optimum temp for bacteria to grow, and when the bacteria grow and then we eat them, they are still alive and are able to spread more and make us sick!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Because the food has bacteria in it that is killed in the process of cooking!.!. When it is undercooked the bacteria lives on and hence the food poisoning!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There are bacteria in nature that doesn't wash off sometimes or cannot be washed off (as E-cola in hamburger) !. These bacteria can cause serious gastric distress in humans!.

Because heat kills these bacteria, thorough cooking is advised!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
