Hypoglycemic!???! PLEASE Help???!

Question: Hypoglycemic!!?!?!?! PLEASE Help!?!?!?
Today my mom told me she thinks i might be hypoglycemic, which is when your blood sugar gets low!. I had just eaten lunch, and about an hour later i got kind of shaky!. My mom told me to eat a cookie, and i did and it made me feel better!. I also sometimes feel like im in a "daze" or like im not really alive sometimes, especially if i haven't eaten in a few hours (but i try to eat frequently) !. Is that why i feel this way!? Could i be hypoglycemic!? Im also underweight if that means anything!.

Does anyone know anything about this condition!? What causes it!? What can i do to control it if i have it!?

Thank You!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Hypoglycemia can be part of hyperglycemia (diabetes), for example, you've given yourself too much insulin, and your blood sugar dropped really low!. It can also be independent of having diabetes, but can indicate other health issues!. It's very important to see a doctor and get tested!.

I know the shaky thing comes from the low blood sugar!. I'm not familiar enough with it to know about being dazed or feeling like you're not alive!. I'd talk to a doctor about that!.

The only way to get your blood sugar up is too, eat something with sugar!. Protein is good too, but it acts slower than sugar!.

Here's additional info about hypoglycemia, it's a good site too!. Maybe you and your mom can look it over together!.

Hope you feel better!.

Btw, Iamabuckeyefan: gestational diabetes is not also known as hypoglycemia!. Hyperglycemia (diabetes) and hypoglycemia are on completely opposite ends of the spectrum!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hypoglycemia is an uncommon diagnosis and as such, needs to be made based on a complete history, physical exam and laboratory studies ( glucose tolerance test)!. However, if you are underweight and do not eat every two to three hours, you may exhaust your bodies supply of readily available glucose, causing symptoms such as weakness, poor mentation, "shakiness" and fatigue!. There are a number of other problems that can cause the symptoms you have described - you need to see your doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Eating balanced meals regularly, including a good breakfast, is definitely the right place to start!.
You may also want to have your blood pressure looked at!. Low blood pressure can bring about symptoms of fatigue!.
For peace of mind, talk to you doctor about it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have that as well!. It usually affects me when playing sports, so I make sure to carry around glucose tablets!. They give you that extra sugar you need really quickly!.
Just make sure you eat healthily and exercise regularly!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

your doctor can test that!. My wife became hypoglycemic when she became pregnant!.!.!.!.also known as gestational diabetes, but she still remains hypoglycemic!. Make a Dr!. appointmentWww@Answer-Health@Com
