I think its to do with breathing!. When you're feeling nervous you tend to breathe quicker (with a quickened heart beat rate) and shallower!. This results in less circulation, and less oxygen reaching your lower abdomen, which gives you the 'butterfly' feeling!. This is why it is suggested to take long, steady, deep breaths when you are feeling nervous, to overcome the butterfly feeling!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Well, your stomach produces Gastric acid, this acid mainly consists of Hydrochloride acid, Potassium Chloride and Sodium Chloride!. This acid is often is produced by special cells in the stomach, when a person sees food, feels hungry or even nervous!. The queasy feeling is the resulting of highly acidic environment in the stomach especially when it is empty!.
