Question: Please answer! Thumbs up for all and I faithfully check for best answer =]!?
Ok so heres the deal, I had a horrible sore throat, fever, fluid in my ears and all the rest of the fun stuff for about a week!. I went to the doctors and was prescribed a zpack (an antibotic for bacterial infection you take 1 pill a day for 3 days) After the 1st dose the next morning my sore throat was gone! So today was my last dose and i feel much better now im dealing with the runny nose but heres what im concerned with, I figured the swolleness of my sore throat was gone since it no longer hurts but i just looked and its still swollen with a few white dots on it!. and i can act!. see a drip in my throat and i've been pretty good besides the runny nose!. So can someone tell me if its normal for it to still be swollen but the pain gone!? Im assuming its cuz of the dripping its still irrataded but i jus wanna check!. p!.s!. I was told i had sinusitis!. Please let me know if this is normal and when the swelling/runny nose should clear up! Thank youu! Thumbs up for all && Sorry this was so long!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had exactly what you had a couple months ago it sucks & the doctors it was just a drip finally i got fed up & went to the hospital they prescribed me zpack also & it worked from day 1 its just because of your drip its swallon still feel better !!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your lymph nodes around your throat (s/b both sides under jawbone) are still swollen from the infection and should go back to normal in a couple days!. They may also excrete fluid while they are healing, but this could also be a viral infection that can not be cured by the antibiotic you took!. Watch it for a week and if it does not gradually improve, go back to the Dr, or call them and double-check!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The z-pak should have killed the infection, but there is always the possibility that it didn't kill it al!. Wait a few days at least and see if the sore throat comes back!. The z-pak would do nothing for the sinus drip -- only the infection!. YOu may need something like Allegra for the rest of it to clear up, or the sinus infection may return!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The swelling should go down in the next couple days, if not you will need to schedule another appointment for different medicine!. The swelling that is still there is probably just from all the drainage that you have going on!. Right now it is not bothering you because the medicine is still in your system, if it starts bothering you once it wears off, then you really need to get on something different to take care of everything!.!.!.!.!.!.good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

It's good that you took the pill for all three days!. It is completely normal to not be fully healed when you run out of medicine (when it is a short dosage, like 3-5 days, rather than a couple of weeks)!. You should call the doctor for a followup appointment and potentially more medicine if you feel the same or worse after three-five days off the medication!. Sinusitis can be tricky to get rid of!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've always heard that having white spots on your throat meant strep throat, but I could be wrong!.
It may take a few days or a week for the antibiotic to fully kick in!. That's prob why it's still swollen as well as the runny nose!. The runny nose could also be from all that mucous and stuff from your sinuses clearing out!.
Hope you feel better soon!Www@Answer-Health@Com

yea, be glad the pain is gone, its progressingWww@Answer-Health@Com

I get white dots on my tonsils/throat from post nasal drip from sinus infections and congestion!. Usually what I do is gargle with salt water - it helps with the pain!. But since you're not experiencing much pain, I would gargle with vinegar and warm water - it actually will help kill strep germs!. I always do that!. It gags you, but it helps a lot!. If it doesn't help, call your doctor and go get a throat culture to see if it is bacterial or something else!. Hope I've helped a bit!Www@Answer-Health@Com

if the white bumps were there from the start then they are probably just irratated by the drip!.!.!.the antibiotic does take a little more time than just the threedays!.!.!.especially if it was a sinus infection!.!.!.the sinuses are going to continue to drain for sometime after!.!.!.!.now if the white dots didnt start til after the antibiotics!.!.!.!.keep an eye on it!.!.!.it could be the starts of thrush!.!.!.if you eat some yogurt with live cultures it should help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

even after u finish the zpack (which is a pretty strong antibiotic, azithromycin/zithromax) it takes a few days to fully recover!. however most of the infection will be gone and taken care of!. expect to have the swelling and other symptons still gradually decrees for a few more days before everything is back to 100%!. As always you should still drink lots of fluids to wash away left over mucus etc!. Also using simple saline nasal rinses will help flush remaining mucus!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

ZPack can be a very good antibiotic and yes, all of your symptoms should clear if it's working well with your body!. The white dots on your throat!? A nurse once told me that strep throat usually begins with white patches or "dots" on the back of the throat!. Perhaps it's gone into strep!. I would suggest calling your doctor!. If anything, he or she can swab your throat to rule out strep!. If it's not strep, then maybe another antibiotic can be prescribed!. Let him or her be the judge!.!.!.in my humble opinion!

Feel better!Www@Answer-Health@Com
