How the heck do I get water out of my ear!? My right ear is completely plugged up - help!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Wow, there seems to be more incorrect information, than correct information in the responses that I have seen so far!. Based on your question it seems as though you know that the cause of this is water in your ear canal!. Daniel S!. asks an important question; "does it hurt!?" The workup and causes of a painful ear that you can't hear out of can be very different from a painless ear that you can't hear out of!. Address Man suggests going out and buying some ear drops!. The problem is that there is practically an entire aisle in the pharmacy dedicated just to eardrops and they are often different active ingredients to treat different problems!. Just randomly picking an eardrop could make things worse rather than better!.
<3 suggested laying down with the affected ear on a pillow and waiting for it to spontaneously drain!. This sounds like a fairly good idea and is certainly the lowest in labor!.Brian made a humorous suggestion, which I doubt that he wants you to actually do, and probably wouldn't be all that effective because it would only remove the part of your ear external to the ear canal which is what is plugged!. Em Diggity also had a humorous suggestion however his premise is incorrect; fire doesn't put out water, water puts out fire!. Alle Y G has an excellent suggestion!. Often times someone's ear canal was 50-75% blocked with ear wax and then when water enters the ear canal it gets behind the wax and essentially becomes trapped because it can't easily flow through the 25-75 percent of the ear canal which is not blocked by ear wax!. Tom S has a suggestion that sounds plausible, although possibly dizzyness inducing!.
Harleywood is almost certainly wrong!. Decongestants like Pseudofed(sp) do not work on the external ear canal, they work(and then only somewhat) mainly on nasal and sinus passages!.
Jay Guy has yet another possible treatment, although I hadn't heard of that one either!. (Jay- adenoids, not adnoise), also, internal drainage of the middle ear through the eustachian tube is significantly different from drainage of the external ear canal!. The adenoids have no effect on anything external to the eardrum!. I'm glad you did well after adenoidectomy because the latest medical information points to that being of minimal benefit in preventing recurrent middle ear infections/fluid accumulation!.

paladin's advice doesn't sound good!. He suggests that if it was a slow hearing loss within its is probably water in the ear canal, and follows that with advice to go to the emergency room (for water in the ear canal!?)!. This also implies that water in your ear canal wouldn't cause a sudden loss of hearing which is not true!. In fact I would say quite the opposite is the case!. The water acts as a physical plugged and can cause near total hearing loss almost instantly!. His suggestion to call an "autolaryngologist" also seems like a bit of overkill as well as a bit of a spelling error as well!. There's no reason to invoke a specialist in ear, nose, and throat surgery for a bit of swimmers ear which is certainly sounds like you are describing!. When every problem, even the minor ones, immediately goes to the specialist it doesn't take very long before the system is bogged down with minor problems that can usually be solved at home with a quick phone call to Mom, dad, or a friend with some good commonsense!. He then goes on to describe a situation where his wife went to the emergency room and was told that this would clear up because it was a virus!. Unfortunately the virus appears to have done some permanent damage (it is a rare side effect but does occur from time to time!. Unfortunately this is compounded by the ENT who then has to step in and mis state the facts!. The use of steroids in the treatment of acoustic neuritis is hardly a 100 percent effective treatment!. It MAY having been shortened the course of the disease, and it may have protected her hearing in that ear!. However, it's not quite the "if you would have come to me sooner I could have saved your hearing" scenario that it appears to have been made out to be!.

It appears as though when all is said and done what you have is some swimmers ear!. There are a number of over-the-counter drops (most of which are some variation on rubbing alcohol or even hydrogen peroxide!. I would use the ease as the direction state on the side of the bottle and you may want to consider that once the water is completely out of your ear and your hearing has grossly returned, you may want to then get some ear dissolving drops to get rid of the wax which ultimately contributed to the problem!. Any pain, discharge from the ear such as pus, dizziness or spinning sensation, or unusual sounds in your ear such as a ringing, or a hissing sound, should then prompt you to seek rapid or immediate re-evaluation!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i did go on the shower once and also when i was putting shampoo on my hair and then i rinsed i had water in my right ear!. Though it came right back out, and my ear was a little plugged up, so i just took the part of my ear that i put my earrings on and strected it a bit, then after 15 minutes, it was gone!.

It's not anything harmful, but if a lot of water got in your ear canal, it might hurt your hearing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

for that you will need to go to the doctor, and have them look at it!. my ear was like that a week ago, and they prescribed a medication!. they said take it and it would clear up in about 10 days and now i am good!. for a week or so prior, not only was my ear stuffy and feeling like it had to drain, but i was hearing a crackling noise!. when i started hearing the crackling and tapping noise, i went to the doctor because it freaked me out!. its uncomfortable and annoying but you need to be patient!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

first!.!.!.!.was it sudden hearing loss
if not then probably water in ear canal!.!.!.!.go to emergency room!.!.!.!.is yes then call an autolaryngologist now!!! my wife lost 100 percent hearing in her left ear!. we went to emergency room and they said it would clear up!. 1 week later went to autolaryngologist and he said a virus had attacked the audio nerve and there is nothing he can do!. If we had gone in immediately he could have put her on steroids and saves some or all hearing!.!.!.!.!.actually just call one now!.!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
