Answers:
so, that means that you haven't had the flu for four years!.the big difficulty in answering this question is definition of terms!. The term flu has a specific meaning in medicine however it has a number of potential meanings to the lay public!.influenza is a very specific virus!. However, ordinary common colds are often times called "a touch of the flu", or sometimes simply called the flu even though there is a very large difference between a cold virus, and influenza virus!.at 16 years old your last episode of true influenza having been four years ago would fit within fairly normal timing depending upon how bad the flu was in your area for each of those last four years, and whether or not you received the influenza vaccine!. However, if what you are saying is that you haven't gotten a common cold in the last four years that does make you somewhat statistically abnormal inasmuch as people your age typically get between 3-6 common colds per year!. So, if you have gone four years with only one cold the statistics suggest that you're probably going to take a beating with colds fairly soon!. When you consider that the total duration of a common cold is usually 14 days or less it would be possible for you to spend the entire next year fighting off "a cold" which is actually 25 viral colds one after another after another!.There is a lot of misunderstanding about THE common cold, and this is because there is no such thing as THE common cold!. The symptoms of a cold can be caused by hundreds of different viruses!. Each virus is distinct and unique but causes similar symptoms!.because we feel the similar symptoms we call it the cold instead of a cold which is more correct!. to give you a further illustration of this principle idea about 3-4hours of welding one day but unfortunately I was only wearing a short-sleeved shirt!. Over the next 1-2 days I developed redness, minimal pain, and some minor blistering on my left forearm and hand!. What I called this was welders sunburn!. Now that's not technically accurate because the Sun didn't cause the problem it was ultraviolet light from the welding arc!. There are a number of viral infections that human beings can get which, once they have run their course, or we have been immunized against,we have lifetime immunity against them!.if you can imagine that there are 150 separate and distinct cold viruses!. And let's pretend that every time you get, and recover from one of these cold viruses you have lifetime immunity against that specific cold virus!. You may get a cold later in life but it would be a different virus causing similar symptoms!. Let's say you start getting the viruses at birth and you average 5 per year!. That would mean that after 30 years you could have been exposed to every cold virus that exists on the planet and you would have lifetime immunity against each of these viruses!. You would essentially be "immune to the common cold"because you would be immune to each and every virus which can cause those symptoms!. Unfortunately this usually doesn't take place and instead you just have to grin and bear it and take each cold as it comes doing the best you can with conservative/over-the-counter treatments!. I have been often asked why there is "no cure for the common cold"!. If you think about it, that would mean each individual virus would have to be investigated to the point of finding a cure!. This would be like trying to find a cure for genital herpes, or HIV ,or west Nile virus 350 different times!. And all this research would be dedicated to finding a cure for a disease that ultimately runs its course by itself!. that would definitely seem like a huge waste of resources!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A couple of reasons, probably!. You might have a very strong immune system that's able to fight off the illness before symptoms appear!. Maybe you haven't been exposed to a stomach flu since you were twelve!. And maybe you have been exposed, but only to strains that made you sick in the past, which means your body would have been better equipped to fight off the flu because your immune system recognized the illness!. I haven't had a stomach flu since I was eight!. I'm 25 now!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
