MRSA Staph?!

Question: MRSA Staph!?
We took my 1 yr old daughter to the doctor on Saturday for some swelling down by her bum!. They lanced and drained the area!. Of course they did a culture on it as well!. They're treating it as a staph infection!. We went back Sunday for more draining and I'm waiting for the Pediatric Surgeon's office to call back today!.

I'm really worried about her!. Have any of you had experience with this type of thing!? Is a surgical draining more effective than antibiotics alone!?

They sent us home with morophine yesterday!. Poor little thing!.!.!.I feel so bad for her!.

Answers:
Yes, draining is much more effective than antibiotics alone!. It sounds as though you have a good Dr!. He cultured the drainage to be sure he was treating the pathogen effectively!. You would be appalled at how many Drs!. don't culture!.

Mrsa is more dangerous than non-resistant staph simply because it IS resistant to many antibiotics!.

Be sure you give your baby the antibiotics at equal hours, if noone told you that!. That means, if it is twice a day give it every 12 hours!. If three times a day, give it every 8 hours!. This is important in order to keep a level amount of drug in the bloodstream at all times so the bacteria cannot develope resistance to it!. This is the very reason why we have these super-bugs developing!. Drs!. and other healthcare workers are too careless to be sure people know how to take antibiotics properly!.

Once a bacterium is under attack it can mutate in as little as 30 minutes!
If you take a twice a day antibiotic at, say, 8AM and 4PM then you are giving the bacteria several hours while you have a low blood level of drug in which it can mutate and become resistant!.
I am surprised that they gave you morphine to give a baby for this though!. Very, very surprised!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
