Hey!! Amputation is a little extreme if your finger is only bruised, however i'm assuming that no extreme damage has been caused - crushed bone, severely damaged nerve and blood vessels, severe infection, etc!. It is probably a good idea to see a doctor to just check that it isn't broken!. Fingers are very easy to treat in terms of breaks and don't take as long as an arm or leg!.
If it is only bruised then you could help it mend by keeping it strapped up until it stops hurting and you can bend it comfortably!. Using a cold compression will help reduce swelling and discomfort caused by pain!. Avoid over using it so that it has time to heal properly!. But if you have any reason to believe that your finger is severely damaged then please see a doctor, the sooner the better - amputation is usually an extreme measure and if it is badly damaged from the fall, the sooner you receive medical treatment the less chance you'll have of needing an amputation!.
