How can I stop being addicted to food?!


Question: How can I stop being addicted to food!?
I mean if your addicted to achohol or drugs, you can remove your self from those surroundings BUT food is another thing!. You need food!. There are days where I cant stop eating!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

food is a great thing!. we all need it and it's one of life's pleasures!. but when it's uncontrollable, there's a problem!. do you know why you're addicted!? food can be used for comfort and to escape pain!. is there some problem you're dealing with and food makes you feel better when you feel anxious or hopeless!? when you were growing up, were you rewarded with food when you did something well, or was food withheld from you when you misbehaved!? be open to looking at when this issue started for you!.

you have several options (and you can do all of these if you want) --
-see a counselor specializing in food addictions!. any google or yahoo search will give you professionals in your area!.
-go to www!.tlc!.discovery!.com and look for the show "i can make you thin" - the expert actually has some effective mind tricks (yes, the issue is psychological) that are based on behavioral approaches!. one of his tricks is to imagine live worms crawling all over your food!. (yes, it does work!. the disgust factor is high on that one!.)
-google for food addiction support groups ( they do exist) and join one!.
-ask help from people you trust!.
-when you start thinking about food or when you feel anxious, do something productive or fun like dancing, painting, going to the gym or park, call a good friend, lift dumb bells, even clean your apartment!. do NOT sit in front of the tv!. it only encourages eating!.
-throw out or donate all the junk food and sweets in your fridge and pantry!. keep only veggies, fibrous foods, lean protein, fruits!. at least you don't add a lot of trans fat and sugar to your meals!.
-join a gym and pay for a personal trainer!. they keep you motivated!. once you start losing weight, you'll appreciate yourself more!.

even though food is good and needed by the body, in the long term too much of it leads to obesity and even death!. the heart and body just can't take an overload of food!.

What foods are you having issues with!? And why!?
What seems to trigger your eating!? Is there a certain time
of day or night, or a time of month, or is it when you are
doing a specific thing that you crave food!?
All these are questions you should ask yourself!. Start
keeping a food diary!. Write down what you ate, when,
and what started you eating!.
Then you can change your habits so the triggers aren't
so much there!.
And, if you crave, put it off, five minutes at a time, til
you don't crave anymore!. Reward yourself, if you can
keep from eating, in non-food ways!.
Try groups online, maybe overeaters or something,
so you have someone to call on to understand what
you're going through!.
Food is an addiction, especially sugars and fats and
salts!. Learning to satisfy your appetites in other ways
and just eat to your healthy hunger is your challenge!.

Well I know this girl who has completely stopped eating and sleeping!. because of a drug which is another addiction but it sounds like your only choice and you can make some really cool bead bracelets at awkward hours of the night!.!.!.!. or morning but you wont know the difference between night and day so it doesnt matter anyway!. or you can just quit smoking those twinkies!. that shall work tooWww@Answer-Health@Com

I agree, and it isnt a humerous matter!. Very difficult, I am 5"2, 130 lbs, and just recently got diagnosed with OCD foodd disorder, im a little flabby not fat, and have the same thing as you do!. My mother helps me by having me eat very small portions numerous times a day, or eating normal and her locking up other foods and goods!. is there anyone that can help you out!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

-Drink lots of water (plain) before and after meals!. like half pint each!
-Don't do too much active sports--activity can make you hungry
-distract urself with engaging activity such as shopping or book/internet/TV (no food allowed there either)!.!.works for me!
-Do not eat while stress--or else ur body will think if u stress u deserve food to be happy
-eat a lot of fiber!. It makes you full easier!.
-Get off junk food!. They make you less satisfied even with bigger meals compared to normal healthy food!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Rephrase that; You can STOP eating!. You CHOOSE not to stop!. Be active!. Take up a sport where you are not near food or a fridge!. Like hiking, marathon running, soccer, rock climbing, cycling!. If that sounds too much like work, then there is no hope for you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Have someone do something really gross to the food you are addicted to!. Addicted to ice cream!? Have a dog crap on it and maybe you won't be!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

iv try-ed to lose weight over and over it is hard some times I wood lose 25 LBS and then put it back on good luck but try not to worry to much being fat and being ugly are two vary different things people seem to forget thatWww@Answer-Health@Com

i would say try not to think about it 2 much but i know its very hard!. or when u do think about it go 4 a walk listen to music go swimming or go jogging!. hope this helpedWww@Answer-Health@Com
