Getting tonsils removed inpatient out patient?!

i had my tonsils removed at 16 and mine ended up being inpatient!. tonsilectemy's are alot rougher on the person the older you are!. it is meant to be outpatient, but its alot harder for a person to handle!. be prepared to know that it will probably take you a few days longer to heal after the procedure as well!. you'll be on a liquid diet and then progress to soft foods!.

as long as there are no complications, it is done as an outpatient procedure!. you will usually arrive and have the surgery --which typically takes only 30-45 minutes-- done early in the morning!. after you are awake from anesthesia, you can usually go home in an hour or two!. typically, they will ask you to drink or eat something soft (i!.e!. a popsicle) just to make sure you are able to eat before you leave!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My 19 year old niece just had this done!. In-patient, one night and should have been longer!. This is considerably more complicated when you're older!. The big danger is infection!. I sat up and watched her sleep the first night because she was afraid her throat was closing!. And, sure enough, it was!. I'm pretty sure it's an outpatient procedure!. As long as you're awake and not showing any bad signs, they let you go home the same day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
