Meditation can mean a lot of different things to different people!. There are some "by the book" definitions but the actual experience is different for everyone!.

For me meditation means 2 modes!.

1 mode is sitting down in a quiet place and clearing your mind, breathing deeply!. Once your mind is clear there might be a backdraft effect where now your mind is flooded again with thought after thought after thought!. This is okay and expected!. You have a few options here!.!.!.none of which are really rules!.!.!.just options!. You can clear your mind again if the rush of thoughts did not bring you what you desired!.!.!.or you can go with it and see what your mind wants to tell you!. It is possible to clear your mind so that it stays relatively clear!. If this is your goal then repeat the exercise until you achieve the effect you want!.

The second mode is a bit more complex!. Basically you get to a point where every moment of everyday you are meditating!. The idea behind this is that you can go through your days on autopilot, only reacting to new situations and then going back into you same routine!. Or, you can be concious and aware of all the moments of your day!.!.!.this allows you to be receptive to things your body, mind, environment, soul are telling you!.

Many people think meditation means sitting with your legs crossed saying "UMMMMMM" many times over!. Some people actually do that but that is not what meditation is about!. Meditation is about taking control of your everyday thoughts and using them to your benefit!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think there are a lot of ways to meditate, but here's my version!.
Finding a quiet spot is always helpful, where there would be no distractions!. Then pick a spot to sit (or lie down), relax, and close you eyes!.
Remember, breathing is important!. Breathe in, out, in, out!.!.!.!.Sometimes, people like to internally count their breaths!. 7 counts inhale, 7 counts hold, 7 counts exhale, 7 counts hold, repeat!.
Try to clear your mind of everything and focus on your breathing!.
Do this for at least five minutes!. Have some time to yourself!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
