Answers:
i love our healthcare system!. i work for a surgeon and the wait time to get in to see him is about one week for urgent referrals such as cancer or suspected cancer!. for non urgent referrals the wait time is about 2 - 4 weeks!. for our patients to get in for tests such as CT scans and PET scans the wait time is about 1 - 2 weeks as well, obviously first priority patients needs to be seen first!. the same goes for the emergency room!. the wait might be long for you if you're a non priority patient!. obviously someone having a heart attack or just in a major car accident will be seen before someone with a cold or something minor!. there is a doctor shortage here and many people don't have a family gp!. walk in clinics are very busy and the wait at them can be a few hours!. i don't think the quality of our healthcare is not as good!. we have excellent doctors and they do what they can to get people in and seen as quickly as possible!.

my mom was diagnosed with an extremely rare type of cancer last year and her family doctor never gave up trying to figure out what it was!. he ordered every test and scan and figured it out!. once he knew what it was she was off for surgery within a week and is now cancer free, but still getting CT scans every 6 months to make sure she's still all clear!.

I guess the cons are more for the people who aren't considered top priority because they will have to wait for their appointments and will occasionally have to be bumped because of an urgent patient!. at the same time though, i'm not going to complain because if i'm ever in the situation where i need emergency care, i'd expect to go ahead of the person with the runny nose or whatever haha!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

We have a shortage of doctors so there can be a bit of wait time!. But I can go to the Dr's when ever I need to and it doesn't cost me anything!. Usually if a child is in need of medical attention, they are given priority!. Sometimes if you have to see a specialist, it might take a few months to get in but if we had enough doctors the wait times wouldn't be so long!. And there are times when you have to wait for available equipment such as CT scans and such!. Most large employers have drug benefits plans for the employees so even if I need medicine, I only pay a percentage of the price!. I like our system!. Its not perfect but then what is!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

First of all, no, - It doesn't include Dental unless you're on
a Disability pension (Gov!.t program)!.

I love our free healthcare!. We do have a shortage of doctors, and I'm hoping this is being worked on!.
But right now my child (children are top priority) has a top notch pediatrician/neuroligst who we found!.

For myself and my husband, if we cannot make it in to our
family doctor, - We can go to a clinic!. This is all free!.
The cost of drugs/pharmaceuticals is much cheaper as well!.
However, you can always ask for a Generic brand!.
If one of us needs a specialist, you're referred right away, and depending on the severity of your symptoms/condition -
The appt!. usually won't take long!.
Our hospitals are great!. They could reduce the waiting times! however again, It depends on the condition, priority!.
And the best thing is you can get a 2nd and 3rd opinion,
if you want, without worrying about the cost!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
