i have been through this before,
my "best" friend was "bulimic"!.
but it was all kinda fake!.!.!.
from what i know about it, it's an addiction!.
and a habit, so you have to brake the habit!.
im not a professional, but i would say eat green vegetables!.
you cannot gain weight from eating green vegetables!.

there's really nothing we can say to make you stop, it is YOUR responsibility!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

on http://www!.dietstepbystep!.com there is a page dedicated to bulimia treatment!.

Here's a part:

The treatment of bulimia both involves the medical approach and psychological approach!. A clinical psychologist must administer the treatment procedures for they are skilled on the issues of eating disorders!.
The type of treatments depends on the severity of the disorder!. However, the psychological treatment is needed more significantly than the course of hospitalization!.

Hospitalization is needed in treating the complications of the disorder when the patient's have had bulimia in a long period!. In this case, the health problems like dehydration, throat inflammation, hemorrhoids, esophagus tears, and pancreatitis may have developed over time!. Medications must be given to the patient in order to regain normal health status before any psychological techniques are employed!.

Psychological treatment is given in a long-term basis!. This is primarily the use of psychotherapy in the form of counseling the bulimic!. The significance of nutrition is explained to the patient for the goal of rectifying undue eating behavior and disposition!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

bulimia is usually driven by fear that if the person doesn't binge then they will put on weight!. Unfortunately the activity of being bulimic often actually works against the body becoming slim, healthy and fit, For example, someone with bulimia and worried about their weight will often skip breakfast!. If they were to eat something like porridge then their metabolic rate would increase and they would more effectively burn calories, and foods like porridge provide a long term energy release so that the person isn't 'starving' by lunchtime!. Almost invariably when the person stops being bulimic and starts to eat a healthy balanced diet they usually find it astonishingly easy to lose excess weight!.
We find that on average we can help people to stop 'doing bulimia' with 2 - 4 hours of NLP and hypnotherapy, and on many occasions we have seen people who have binged and purged daily for years and got them to stop doing it in just one session!. It is our job to help you to change the cycles of behaviour, help you to feel better about yourself as you are, help you to move away from bulimia, and consequently help you to move, once again, to a healthier and happier way of living!.

Hi Bell

You've taken the first step to getting help by realising that you have a problem and that you need help!.

This link to the Mind website should be useful

Understanding Eating Disorders:
http://www!.mind!.org!.uk/Information/Bookl!.!.!.

the information is easy to read and understand!.

Also this website may be helpful too

Beat eating disorders:
http://www!.b-eat!.co!.uk/Home

Both websites will give you links to other places that you can get help and guidance from!.

It would be a good idea to talk to your GP and explain about your eating habits and that you think you are suffering from bulimia!. A good tip is to write everything down before you go, then if you get upset or forget you have something to refer to, or you could ask your Dr to read what you have written!.

If you think you could talk to either your Mum or Dad then that would also be something to think about!. I'm sure if they know that you are suffering and want help they will do their best to help you!. If you feel that you don't feel able to do that then is there anyone else who you trust who you could confide in!?

Having someone to talk to you who will listen really can make a huge difference!.

Your local mental health charity may have a Young Persons Service

http://www!.mind!.org!.uk/Mind+in+your+area!.!.!.

the one I work for does!.

People there will treat you with respect, won't judge you but they will be able to offer support and advice!. Maybe with help form there you could feel strong enough to talk to your parents!.

They are easy to access, you don't have to referred by anyone else, it really does only take a phone call!.

If you were my friend or sister I would want to help you in any way I could!. I would listen to whatever you needed to tell me and I wouldn't judge you, and I would also feel privileged that you chose me as the one to help you!.

I work in mental health so I may find it easier than some to try and understand and help you to work through things!.

Sometimes people can be scared of things they don't understand or have never come into contact with, and also they can feel that they are to blame!. It doesn't make them bad people, it means that they need more time to educate themselves and come to terms with what they are dealing with!. Your family may feel this way to begin with, but I'm sure if you tell them how you are feeling and give them some information about the illness they will do their best!.

Please take the next step and make an appointment to see your GP, he/she is there to help you!.

I hope this helps and that the links prove of some use to you!.

Take care and good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
