I work in the NHS and I don't know anyone who is with BUPA or any other private company - anyone I know that has got ill has chosen to be treated in a hospital where they work - including the highest level of management!. Many of the consultants in private places work for the NHS anyway - they just do private work part-time!. So why bother paying to see the same people!? Also, most private places don't have intensive care units, so the NHS places have far more back up in case things get serious!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

BUPA is not the be all and end all of private healthcare!. There are many limitations that go with belonging to BUPA, and although I personally hold BUPAcare, it does not mean that I refuse to use NHS services as and when they are available!.
My family are all health professionals, including myself, and we belong to BUPA, however I use NHS services frequently, as I find that the service available on BUPA is limited and not always supportive!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
