Why does caffeine give me anxiety attacks?!


Question: Why does caffeine give me anxiety attacks!?
I get panic attacks at the drop of a dime, for any little reason!. I cut soda and coffee out of my diet a few months ago!. Today I drank a can of mountain dew and now I feel like i'm going to die!. My heart races, I get chest pains, and it feels like i'm going to stop breathing!. I'm not having a heart attack!. It's deffinatley anxiety!. Why does ceffeine spark my anxiety!?




BTW: I've been to the doctor for this!. They didn't give me an answer!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Probably stimulates your nervous system too much!. Do you 420!? Sometimes that can trigger attacks!.!.!.!.believe it or not!. You went to the doctor and they could not say!? Strange!. Maybe you should ask, or try to find out!. That way, you can use bio-feedback to control it!.

I had one once!.!.!.and thought I was having a heart attack!.!.!.!.my heart rate was 170 bpm (beats per minute)!. Should be 70-75!. I had a crushing feeling in my chest!.!.!.and I was getting incoherent!. Once I had the EKG, the doc told me that my heart was good!.!.!.!.didn't even miss a beat!.!.!.!.so he diagnosed it as a anxiety attack!. Once he told me that!.!.!.!.my bpm slowly came down to 90!.!.!. (the result of bio-feedback) and he gave me some advil!. That was my first time and years ago!. Has not happened since!.

Next time it happens!.!.!.just realize that this is what it is!.!.!.!.slow your breathing!.!.!.and even try to take a deep breath and hold it!.!.!.and release slowly and evenly!.!.!.!.thinking of nice places!.!.!.!.the beach!.!.!.!.!.the sound of the waves!.!.!.!.the breeze on your face!.!.!.!. You should be fine!.!.!.

In large amounts, and especially over extended periods of time, caffeine can lead to a condition known as caffeinism!. Caffeinism usually combines caffeine dependency with a wide range of unpleasant physical and mental conditions including nervousness, irritability, anxiety, tremulousness, muscle twitching (hyperreflexia), insomnia, headaches, respiratory alkalosis and heart palpitations!. Furthermore, because caffeine increases the production of stomach acid, high usage over time can lead to peptic ulcers, erosive esophagitis, and gastroesophageal reflux disease!.

There are four caffeine-induced psychiatric disorders recognized by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fourth Edition: caffeine intoxication, caffeine-induced anxiety disorder, caffeine-induced sleep disorder, and caffeine-related disorder not otherwise specified (NOS)!.





++Effects when taken in moderation++

The precise amount of caffeine necessary to produce effects varies from person to person depending on body size and degree of tolerance to caffeine!. It takes less than an hour for caffeine to begin affecting the body and a mild dose wears off in three to four hours!.Consumption of caffeine does not eliminate the need for sleep: it only temporarily reduces the sensation of being tired!.

With these effects, caffeine is an ergogenic: increasing the capacity for mental or physical labor!. A study conducted in 1979 showed a 7% increase in distance cycled over a period of two hours in subjects who consumed caffeine compared to control tests!. Other studies attained much more dramatic results; one particular study of trained runners showed a 44% increase in "race-pace" endurance, as well as a 51% increase in cycling endurance, after a dosage of 9 milligrams of caffeine per kilogram of body weight!. The extensive boost shown in the runners is not an isolated case; additional studies have reported similar effects!. Another study found 5!.5 milligrams of caffeine per kilogram of body mass resulted in subjects cycling 29% longer during high intensity circuits!.

Caffeine citrate has proven to be of short and long term benefit in treating the breathing disorders of apnea of prematurity and bronchopulmonary displasia in premature infants!. Citrated caffeine, the only short term risk associated with caffeine citate treatment is a temporary reduction in weight gain during the therapy, and longer term studies (18 to 21 months) have shown lasting benefits of treatment of premature infants with caffeine!.

While relatively safe for humans, caffeine is considerably more toxic to some other animals such as dogs, horses and parrots due to a much poorer ability to metabolize this compound!. Caffeine has a much more significant effect on spiders, for example, than most other drugs do!.
