I have three sons (ages 16 and up), and you sound like a normal teenage boy to me!. The general guideline of caloric needs for a teenage boy is 2800 calories (see reference link)!. It's not necessarily because of a growth spurt, but just because of your activity level and the fact that you should be changing from a child's body to an adult body -- more muscle mass and a different silhouette!. Your growth spurt should start soon, too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
That can be what is causing the hunger!. If you are active that also develops the hunger!. You may also have intestinal worms!. (one indication of worms is when your faeces floats in the toilet bowel - this is due to the worms eating the fats and your faeces is lighter therefore it floats)!. Mostly likely it is because you are 19 and are burning up your food intake and that is normal!. Check with a doctor if you are concerned at all!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
my son went through this
He was below his hieght/weight etc for his age at 14/15 and began to eat anything that he could!. he didnt change at all and then suddenly at 16 he shot up [11 inches in a year] which was exhausting for him but, although surprising, was not considered adnormal by the hospital he was under [for something else] so dont worry!.
If you are worried it is always worth seeing your own medical person!. They will understandWww@Answer-Health@Com
