Are nurses well respected in society?!
Question: Are nurses well respected in society!?
Answers:
IIn the UK I would say that nurses are respected generally for the job we do, I have a nursing background!. I don't think nurses are as respected as they were twenty/thirty years ago, but that is the same right across the board in the NHS!. We have to deal with abuse and rudeness from patients more and more, but it is still a minority of morons who abuse nursing staff and indeed any other members of the NHS, most patients are grateful for the help and the work nurses do!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
For the person that said they get poor pay!.!. uh, I don't know where you live, but the nurses in Canada get paid pretty damn well!. That's the same with teachers, I don't know why people always say teachers get paid poor, cause they certainly don't here!.
Anyways!.!.!. there are some crappy nurses!. But the dedicated nurses earn my respect cause it's not something I would do, that's for sure!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

as a current nursing student I think they are overlooked and not given the respect they deserve!. They are the ones who often take care of patients and actually get to know them while doctors come in for 5 minutes then charge you $300!. I'm not knocking doctors but nurses rule :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
I can only speak personally, and they damn well are by me! That's still a vocation, not a job, and I've never met a nurse I didn't think was an absolute saint, I kid you not!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I respect them but I hope it's reasonable that I respect doctors more so!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
