it is in the dirt the tomatoes grow in, and the fertilizer the farmers used like manure!. or it could have been contaminated by unsanitary workers or equipment!. salmonella is easily spread it could have happened a billion ways!. the FDA will eventually tell us what happened when they track it down!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ashley is correct!. It is in the manure that is used to fertilize the tomatoes & as the plants grow they are infected with it!. Salmonela is bad stuff, tough on a normally healthy person, older, younger , & immune deficient persons are at great risk!.
