There are a lot of people with "RN" in their explanation?!

Question: There are a lot of people with "RN" in their explanation!?
does that make their answer more valid!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
lmfao!

Are you kidding me! RN's know very little! If they are the 4 year kind, they've had 3 years of general college and 1 year of nursing!. They breeze through physiology and pathology with out going in depth, but for some odd reason they think they know enough about it to be "experts" even though most doctors won't claim to be!.

They are also dangerous when answering!. Because they put "RN" behind their name, the lay person thinks they are knowledgeable increasing the likelihood they'll follow the advice of someone without deep medical knowledge and no liability insurance!

Let me ask you, how many MD's do you see write "MD!?" None! Why would they put out that much risk on someone they've never seen!. I know for fact MD's post here, but they refuse to put MD on their answer, they've never seen you, that would be a heck of a risk!.

Also, why would you put RN on your name, to make yourself seem smarter!? That is a psych issue!.

Edit:
So you think nurses get 2 years of undergrad 2 years of nursing and 2 years of nursing theory!? So a Nurse with a BS has 6 years of education!. Wouldn't that be a masters!?

What about a 2 year RN!. Do they get 2 years of nursing and 2 years of nursing theory!? NO

Even though you are a nurse (I think) you have no idea how the nursing program works!

I have worked in the medical field longer than many and trust me when I say nurses know the least about medicine out of many professions (MD, PA, NP, Med tech (2 and 4 year), Rad Tech, dietetics, etc!.!.!.)!. All the professions I named have to apply medicine!. Nurses know how to follow orders and become good at learning what a patient with disease X looks like!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

We like to help people, that's why there are so many RNs on here!

If I answer a question about nursing, then being a nurse does probably make my answer more valid than someone who's 13 years old and just guessing!.!.!. but if I am giving an opinion on a non-health issue then it shouldn't be considered more valid than anyone else's answer!.

Most people don't realize the amount that nurses need to know, for example Viper thinks we get 1 year of nursing (not true, it's 2 years plus another 2 of nursing theory for a BSN)!. We're not doctors, which is why we say when we are nurses instead :)

Just trying to help, it's what I do!

EDIT: To answer your second question, most people on here who hold a professional degree DO post that under "source" but only if they are answering a question related to their field!. We have EMTs, RNs, PAs, MDs, NPs, GPs, RTs, PTs, DOs, Dentists, and Chiropracters etc all answering on here! That's why I'm so confused as to why Viper would think it's a liability and that people aren't saying who they are!.

EDIT AGAIN: 1 year nursing prerequisites (though it takes most 2 years) and then 2 years of nursing, and with a BSN you get 2 years of nursing theory mixed in with your undergrad BS requirements!. It took me 5 years to get my BSN!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It stands for Registered Nurse !.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!. so it would imply that they have studied the appropriate number of years to achieve that standard of knowledge !.!.!.!.!.!.!.!. ;0)

That means they are, or claim to be a Registered Nurse!. Technically it would make their answer more valid, but they could be lying!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
