Question: Getting tonsils taken out!?
Has anyone ever had their tonsils taken out and how much did it cost!?
I've needed mine out for 2 years now, but I'm scared!.!.!.also I feel like its going to be expensive, and where I live there's no hospitals to perform surgeries, so I would coming to the united states to do it (i'm a citizen)!. If I got them out, what would happen if I didn't have all the money to pay before I left the hospital!? Would they hold me hostage!? LOL Or take out another body part until I paid!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

My tonsils were taken out when I was 17 years old!. Actually they usually do it sooner!. My tonsils were finally taken out because my allergies were making my tonsils gross, and my throat would swell up so much that I couldn't even eat solid food - I could only eat soup!. After a while soups get boring!. I don't know how much it cost - insurance paid for my surgery!. Regarding paying for the surgery: I would suggest you speak to the surgeon that will be performing the surgery!. Can you pay a downpayment, and then make payments to pay the balance!? How are your medical needs paid for now!? We need more information!. "They" wouldn't hold you hostage, but you would probably have to work out some sort of a payment plan with the billing department!. When you have your tonsils taken out you will have a REALLY sore throat, but this will be temporary!. (Keep telling yourself "This too shall pass!.") I guarantee it will be worth it! Having my tonsils out was one of the best things I ever did for my health!.

You will have a general anesthetic and be completely asleep!. The surgeon removes the tonsils through the mouth and stops any bleeding!. A special instrument called diathermia (a Greek word which means by applying heat) is usually used which can free the tonsils and at the same time can stop the bleeding by applying a wave of heat on the small blood vessels!. Because you are completely asleep you will not feel any pain during your operation!. Provided that you are eating and drinking normally, and there is no sign of any infection, you will be fit to go home one or two days after your operation!.
As for the billing, if you have already located a doctor in the states, contact him and explain your situation!. There are many ways the doctor and the hospital can arrange payment!. Don't let money stop you!.

actually i dont know how much it will cost but if you cant pay a bill in the usa they throw you out of the hospital thats why vote obama barrack free health care!. any way i doubt its expensive plus i know they throw you out because i was thrown outWww@Answer-Health@Com

Now I had mine out when I was 4 in 1989!. So obviously I don't know the cost and I had insurance to cover it!. Its not as bad as some people make it out to be!. I know its harder when you're an adult, but its not that bad!. You just have to eat cold soft things for a few weeks and then you'll be back to normal!. I won't lie, its gonna hurt for a while afterwards!. If you can't pay the whole bill when you leave the hospital, you'll have a bill to pay!. Most hospitals will hound you for it, so if you can, pay as much as you can right away!. Some hospitals will work out a payment plan with you!.
